According to Bersa Thunder 380 Chapterhouse the model 85 was nickel finished with steel slide, frame and internals and walnut grip stocks, manufactured from 1989 to 1994.The model 86 was a blued version with black plastic grip stocks manufactured from 1991 to 1994.
Both guns featured no external slide release mechanism and a 13 round double stack magazine. This was Bersa's first offering of a double stack .380acp pistol. It was followed by the Thunder 380 Super, then later, by the Thunder 380 Plus.
