    Thunder 9 UC for CCW

New here and just came across the Bersa line of handguns. I would like to get some info/ideas from all of you.

Recently recieved my CHL and Im looking for a handgun for carry. Ive got a Colt Commander XSE that I thought Ild use as I enjoy shooting it,operates flawlessly and I reload for it

But do to my small frame its really "to big" for me to carry.

I purchased a Sig P6 (225) in 9mm. Nice to shoot. Lighter than the Colt.

But about the same size as my Commander and "to big" for me to carry.

Then I came across the Bersa's.

Yet to handle them but thought I'ld ask how they "feel" in the hand as compared to the Colts. My Commander fits my hand very well.

Im leaning toward the 9 Ultra-Carry Model  being that I have reloading dies for the 9mm.

    Thanks

The UC9 is fantastic in all respects, but I am hesitant to tell you to jump on it simply because I also have a commander size 1911 and I find them to be equally easy to conceal. It may not be as compact as what you are looking for.

The Bersa 9UC is a great pistol, and I carry mine whenever my attire will permit. It is concealable, but it is not particularly small or light. It weighs 24 oz. and is 1.42" thick which is thicker than your Commander (I don't know the weight of a Commander without looking it up).

For a really compact 9mm, my recommendation would be Kahr CW9 (.9" and 18 oz.).

I havent really had experience with your other models but I carry a Bersa Thunder 9 UC dailsand have no problem at all concealing it under an untucked T-shirt.

As far as reliability I have over 1k rounds through mine and from the box to now have not yet had a single malfunction from it reguardless what I feed it...well except the time I had a case of the stupids and grabbed the .380 ammo by accident and loaded a mag with that, they chambered and fired but didnt cycle the action right for some strange reason. lol

Bersa Thunder 9 Ultra Compact, my every day carry, all day every day in a UBG Striker by Nate Gable.

Note that the 45UC is barely perceptibly larger in the same holster. Not hard to conceal at all under an untucked shirt, sweatshirt or sweater.

I'm guessing the reason the .380 won't cycle in the BT9UC is because they sit too far forward in the chamber and the extractor fails to engage the rim of the cartridge.
