    +P Ammo for 9mm?

Will the Bersa UC9 and Firestorm Mini9 handle +P ammo as a steady diet?

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

It will take it but you will have accelerated wear and tear.

No pistol needs a study diet of +P   Why would you want to do that its a waste of money for shooting paper and just wears the pistol out faster.  I see no reason for +P in most pistols  People were dieing just fine before the P+ came about .  Even today more are shot with normal than +P and still going to dirt farm. +P don't make you any deader  Its still shot placement and penteration .

I use +P in my 45 because I am shooting a lite 185gr bullet and want to make sure slide functions . I might be getting a 100fps more  than 230HP. Recoil is about the same. I still only use min at range and carry. I target shoot 230 ball. .

If I were asking the question I would be refering to the ability to sustain wear under long "service" charged loads.. This is a good question, how much +P would you guy think a Bersa 9 could take in it's life?  Due to the low cost of the pistol this can come into ones mind as a question for dependability.

    Re: +P Ammo for 9mm?

Well lets try this Over the years I have own several Non +P rated S&W J frames.  I always carried  the 158grSWCHP +P and still do.   I would target practice with 158 grSWC  and fire  a cyl or to of +P . I never had a J frame shoot loose  My Present J frame is a 1973  and I still do that today.

I would assume the Bersa fireing a few mags a year would still last  a good long while.  I still see  no reason to shoot a lot of +P    A mag now and then to remember how recoil is and if a different point of aim. But why shoot it just to be shooting. If a 9mm won't do it move to a 40 or 45 .

    Re: +P Ammo for 9mm?

So the verdict seems to be that if your going to stock up on ammo for the UC9 stock up on mainly standard presured rounds with a few hundred +P.  Then if you don't feel that 9mm standard presure is worthy of the designated task get a .45.  I'm not a big bore guy (yet) but this I think is solid advice if I'm hearing you right?
