    Bersa Thunder UC for CCW

Hi, I’m new to Bersa Talk and a new Bersa owner. I have a Bersa Thunder 380 and like the DA/SA function with the exposed hammer. I should be receiving my concealed carry permit this month and was reading about the Bersa Thunder Ultra Compact 9mm, 40 S&W and .45 ACP. I have not had the opportunity to see the Bersa line of compacts in person and was wondering if the 40 & 45 are thicker than the 9mm. I’m sure the Bersa single stack magazines make for a more comfortable carry than the Thicker double stack design pistols. Any feed back or suggestions will greatly be appreciated.

    Thank you

Their a little thicker Iam sure the 380 thunder will fill you CCW needs for a long while . The 380 is a relieable SD pistol and the round is  fine for SD.  Remember the most important  thing is having a gun. with you when needed. A 380 on you better than 500S&W at home .

Most times the presence of a pistol and your willingness to defend yourself  will defuse the trouble .

                         Click photos to enlarge.

I'm not sure the specs shown on the Eagle Imports site are 100% accurate, because they show the 45UC as being .1 inch narrower than the 9UC, and I just don't believe it.

I own both guns, and the 9UC grip feels slightly smaller in my hand than the 45UC. But the 9UC has finger grooves, and the 45UC doesn't, and I think that accounts for the difference in how the guns feel in the hand.  I believe the grips are about the same as far as thickness side to side, but the 45UC grip is slightly thicker front to back. Not a lot, but enough to perceive a difference when holding the gun.

And here's something I just thought of. The Firestorm Mini 45, made by Bersa is nearly identical to the 45UC, but has finger grooves in the front strap, just like the 9UC. I'll bet it feels slightly smaller because of that.

Thank you all for your responce to my question. I'm going to start a new topic under Bersa Talk because I went to my locale indoor range and came home with a Bersa Thunder Ultra Compact 45 nickel finish. See you up there.
