New to this forum.  The wife has recently agreed to get her CCW and we went out looking for a 'Purse' gun for her.  She liked the Bersa Thunder (.380) but won't buy it until she has a chance to shoot it.  None of the ranges I called has one for rent.  I have sent an e-mail to Bersausa to see if a distributer can help out with a demonstration but not sure that will work. 

 

Are there any Thunder owners that would be willing to meet me and the wife at a local range and let her try thiers?  I would pick up the ammo costs of course.  We live in Mesa so any of the ranges here would work but I also work in Tucson so it is possible to set something up there during the week.

 

I know, strange request, but the wife is firm that she won't buy one without trying it first.

Buy a  Bersa 380CC for yourself. Once she sees and shoots it she will want it. Then you can get yourself  a Bersa 9UC. If she does not want the 380CC you can keep it for  yourself. As others around here say "Just say Layaway".

Just a little bit stretched in the gun budget right now.  Picked up a M44 Russian Carbine and have my eye on an AK that has been pre-approved by the banker (SWKB/A).

I see that you also list mesa as a contact town.I live in mesa and I have a bersa 380 cc.My wife is taking her concealed carry class today with that gun.I'm sure she would be able to answer any questions reguarding the gun or the class.If your wife is in mesa,a range trip may be possable,plus she could get a female opinion.

Thanks Badger. I would love to get them together.  My wife stays in Mesa full time so timing is not an issue.  Seems the less I have to do with this the better. 

 

Is your wife taking the class at Caswell's?  I figure that's where the wife will take hers.  I'd be interested in hearing what your wife thought of the class.  I took mine in Tucson from a guy I know at work.  It kinda stunk.

Big thanks to Sue and Mike.  We met this morning and the wife got to shoot the Thunder.  Tried Mikes 9mm, both the Bersa uc and his Taurus but the recoil was just a little stiff for her two formally broken wrists.  Settled on the Thunder and bought one locally this afternoon. 

The guy we bought it from over at AJI is an instructor who does a two day course that requires 1000 rounds a day.  He said that he had two women who brought them and both guns made it through 2000 round in a weekend without a problem.  He was surprised, and for the price, so was I.
