Re: Any Amercian Patriots out there?

    Lets see if this works.

Fellow citizens, I am serving notice. I am not recruiting – I’m resurrecting and I’m calling you to duty!
    • If you are dissatisfied with the direction this wonderful country appears to be going
    • If you experience a burning to do something about it
    • If you believe that “Freedom ain’t free”
    • If you are willing to serve, sacrifice and spend yourself in defense of the America that our Founding Fathers intended
    • If you believe that our borders could and should be secured

    Then READ ON!
    • If you believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman
    • If you think this country should be listening to its CITIZENS, those people born and raised here or that went through the legal process to become a citizen
    • If you are bothered by the fact that the widow of a World War II veteran spends years trying to get on Medicaid, but an illegal immigrant that has never sacrificed to serve this country is able to immediately receive medical and educational aid without earning it
    • If you believe our elected representatives should serve those ideals this country was founded on
    • If you believe the Pledge of Allegiance includes the words “Under God”, if you’re not offended by the terms “In God we trust” and “Merry Christmas”

Then step up for duty and be a part of the change!
What are We Fighting For?™ is an association with its focus on re-Americanizing America. It’s an association of like minded individuals founded in citizenship, service and sacrifice and the tenets of our Founding Fathers.
    Take Action!

Thank you for taking the first step in enhancing your citizenship.
God Bless our troops, our country and its citizens. Hoorah, Semper fi, Hoo ah, Anchors Aweigh and Semper Paratus!

Re: Any Amercian Patriots out there?

It looks good and sounds good - but I am a little confused.  The goals and positions seem to be slightly vague and general and not very specific.

I am also confused by their ties to this group:

    Grassroots.org
Grassroots.org is a non-profit organization that serves other non-profits and information consumers worldwide with free Internet business services to charities and focuses on serving non-religious organizations involved in Environmentalism, Humanitarian Relief, Homeless Issues, Political Freedom, Government Reform, and other like-minded, non-legislative causes.

They too are vague and have a lot of high sounding ideals, but they seem to be generally left-leaning, seemingly at odds with much of what whatarewefightingfor claims to stand for...?

I will be interested to see how this develops.

Never knew the name of the band or the song title, but wasn't it played at that place, what was it called? Woodstock.

Didn't they also say "gimme an F, gimme a U...what's that spell?"

Yeah, they were really patriotic. Confused [8-)]

Re: Any Amercian Patriots out there?

I have a vague memory of picking up my uncle as he was returning from Vietnam.  We were sitting the neighbor's dog and had the pooch in the car at the time.  The dog threw up on my uncle's shiny white navy uniform.  I was 4 years old, I think.

In regards to the organization, I agree with every one of their positions *except* gay marriage.  I don't know why, but the issue is a non-starter for me.  I simply don't care about gay marriage.  So in good conscience, I couldn't support the organization simply for that one position.

Re: Any Amercian Patriots out there?

They sounded good until I read two things. Number 1, marriage between a man and a woman only. I'm gay so you can guess where my stance is on that one. How is it considering re-Americanizing the country when you deny its own citizens the same rights everyone else has? Number 2, under God was not added to the Pledge of Allegiance until fairly recently (1950's I think) so technically it is not a part of the original pledge.
I don't think that they are wanting to re-Americanize this country, I think that they are trying to recreate it as they see fit.

Re: Any Amercian Patriots out there?

Marriage has ALWAYS been between a man and a woman.  What gives a small group of people the right to come in and say that they all of a sudden have the right to step on and change something that has been a certain way since the beginning of time?  Over 70% of the nation is against gay marriage, doesn't democracy and the people of the country count for anything anymore?  As the traditional family erodes, so does society.  It is not wrong for people not to want the family to be eroded away anymore than it already is.  It is a slap in the face to all people that are married and trying to teach their children to cherish family life, for them to have to hear about how it is ok to be gay when they send their children to school.  That is just another way to force your beliefs on others.  I know that you are going to say that I am forcing my beliefs on you by not wanting people of the same sex to be married, but it is a little different.  If women and women or men and men were supposed to be together, we would have been born with 2 sets of organs.  We have laws against a man marrying more than one woman, against marrying an animal.  If I want to marry my brother, should I be allowed just because I feel that I should?

BTW this is just my opinion on the subject.  I know others have different opinions and that is ok.  That is what the US is about, everyone's opinion counts.  It is probably going to end up at the SC anyway.  Besides, this issue is not nearly as important to me as illegal immigration and other issues, just MHO before people start taking shots.

Maybe the hope is that gay marriages will eliminate procreation in our country and the immigrants will be able to take over faster.
