    Springfield XDm

Has anyone heard any news on this?

There was a 1 page add in the American Rifleman on it but no real info.
The Springfield web sight does not say much about it either, was wondering if anyone had seen any reviews on it.

    Re: Springfield XDm 9mm

I thought they were only going to offer it in .40 for the time being. I handled one at the NRA show yesterday. I wasn't too impressed to be honest. I liked the feel of the regulard XD's over this new one. That could just be me. All the prices I see on it so far seems to be a bit high.

The xdtalk forum had a thread about a guy who purchased one a few weeks ago, before it is supposed to be sold. He had a review of it on there.  Might be worth checking out.

    Re: Springfield XDm

    You are correct.

My bad. It is only 40S&W right now.

I like the looks of the new gun but I sadly just don't shoot 40S&W much.

9mm, 22, 45acp, 357,380,38, shot gun. Just don't seem to get in to the 40.

Guess I'll wait for the 9mm to come out and then go down and look at them in person.

the XDm is only in .40 right now, i havent handled one yet, i might pick one up if the price comes down a bit and maybe a larger caliber (.45).

here is a review off of the sig forum, but was posted on xdtalk

    Re: Springfield XDm

I saw that too last night when my magazine came in the mail.  It doesn't matter to me as I'm buying a 1911 for my next purchase.  The XD just has too much $hit going on for me......if that makes any sense.

    LOL    You are just relentless.

Would it help if I said I have a FireStorm mini9 a Beretta, two Astras, 3 1911A1s, a half dozen other metal frame guns?

Truth be told I also (in addition to the above list) have 2 Walthers, a P99 & P22, an XD45, Hipoint.

So I have many more metal frame than polymer.
However I plan on buying a Surprise [:O] Glock 19 ported, and a XDm 9mm when they come out.

    YES A HI POINT.

Actually 2. C9 and a 995. As soon as they get the 4595 on the market I will get one of those as well.
HPs are fine guns, they go bang when you pull the trigger and they will handle +P loads. No they are not pretty and no they don't have loads of bells and whistles, and no they don't cost 700.00 but they do what they were made to do.
After the brake in period my C9 has been flawless, bought the 995 used and have never had a problem with it.
You may not like them, but I have to wonder have you ever owned one, fired one, gave one a chance, or have you just followed the trash talk crowds that spews the swill out their back sides.

    Re: Springfield XDm

Yah, your right never owned one, but have fired one belonging to a friend.  It did go bang.  I found the trigger rough and was not fond of the blowback action and stiff lside.  That is probably the same reason I found it a little top heavy for my balance.  I can't see the unit as an EDC as I found it a little bulky.  Down the hallway at 3:00 AM I'm with you, but I would still reach for my 1911 first.  Sorry to come off snobby, I generally like any gun.

    BT380,
How did you get that video clip in your sig line and avatar?
I have tried but no dice.
    Thanks, toni

    Re: Springfield XDm

I find HiPoints crude and brutish, but I also wouldn't mind having a couple. I didn't think the trigger was all that bad, it was better than the Kel-Tecs trigger.

I noticed something the other day that got my interest up, I understand you can get an XD with a 1911 style safety on it now? Does it still have the goofy trigger with that?
