Cleaning solutions for the nickel finish Bersa

Hello all, just traded my 380+ for a model 23 (new old stock and unfired w/3 mags) in Nickel. What is recommended as a cleaner that is safe on the nickel (hoppes obvously is not, as is anything with ammonia)? also looking for suggested brands of ammo to feed it with...

    Thanks in advance,

    Mark

Note: I was able to find some good input on this already posted - I like the smell of hoppes in the morning but will have to change it out for the Breakfree foaming bore cleaner on the 23 nickel.....

    M-Pro 7. http://www.mp7.com

I took the challenge, and I'm a believer. Cleaned my gun with Hoppe's #9 (a non-nickel gun), and then cleaned it again with M-Pro 7. Couldn't believe all the extra gunk that came out of a "clean" gun; it's like the Hoppe's was just a waste of time. Anyway, M-Pro 7 is safe for nickel finishes, and I have used it on such. You _must_ remember to oil your gun after using the M-Pro 7, though, otherwise you leave the metal in an unprotected state (so don't use it where you can't reach to oil afterward).

    Editted to add:
I've also used Bullfrog Rusthunter Gun Wipes on nickel finishes w/o any ill effects... but (to my knowledge) Bullfrog has never come out and specifically stated that Rusthunter is okay with nickel like M-Pro 7 has.

Hey Mark-I hadn't seen this post. I use Eezox to clean my nickle Thunder 9 and it works just fine-smell good to! Check it out www.eezox.com . Mine developed peeling using Hoppes, even though I never "soaked" anything like the label says.
    Thanks-"CJ"
