    New M&P 40c. Compact

Last Tuesday went in a gun shop and was looking at a Springfield XD 45 caliber Compact & a 9 mm in the sub-compact and S&W M&P 40 caliber Compact and walked out with the M&P Compact 40 caliber. I haven't had a lot of time to shoot it, but I did get 25 rounds though it one night this week. I'm imprested with it. Right out of the box it is shooting nice & accurate. OH buy the way, I cleaned it first. "I LIKE IT", not looking back at all for going with the M&P Compact 40 caliber. Going to put HI-VIZ Fiber Optic Sights on it down the road. I have sold some to friends with XD's and they like the sights. Hard to find a holster for it at this time. Not everyone makes them yet. They all say it is coming. The compact has not been out that long I'm told. I have been doing a lot of phone calling and E-mails to companies. I have a holster for my Bersa Thunder and Kel-Tec from K&D Holsters and like them so I have Kevin making one for the M&P. I went with a Cheyenne Defender again like the Bersa Thunder holster with the belt clip. I like a belt clip so I don't have to undo my belt every time I put it on or take it off. Down side of custom holsters is waiting period is 10 weeks that will put it at the end of August or beginning of September. But when it comes it will be worth it. So I'm in the process of looking for a cheaper holster that I can get in a week or so. " I'm still looking " . So at this time I'm not able to carry it concealed. OH well. Looking to do some more shooting this week coming up hopefully if things work out.

Although I like the full size better, I am a bit jealous. Those look great and feel like they were made for my hand. Enjoy it!

Snaredog, I have the M&P 45, M&P40c, and M&P9c.  The ole Jarhead at http://ubgholsters made me a holster for the M&P9c and it fits the other two as well.  I really like the M&P series and I'm anxiously waiting for S&W to start shipping the M&P45c.  I'd put the M&Ps up against both  H&Ks and Sigs and they're a whole lot less expensive.

Crossbreed Holsters, and HighNoon both offer holsters for the M&P series...

I have a M&P9c and ordered a holster from Crossbreed for it...

Also as Seadog points out, one of the forum members (UBG) is a holster maker...I haven't ordered from him yet, but pics of his work, as well as all the kudos he gets from the members here are both impressive...

    Enjoy your new M&P...

    Re: New M&P 40c. Compact

I have both a COMPTAC M-TAC and a UBG Nassar.  I got my M-Tac to hold me over while I waited for my Nassar and it arrived in less than a week but I dont know if that is what you would consider cheap since its $80.  Looking back it was worth every penny.

I like wearing my M-Tac when I know im going to be out and about for a while and my Nassar when im going to have to take my gun on and off often.  The M-Tac is sturdier since it has 2 clips and the Nassar has only one but I can put my Nassar anywhere on my waist (like appendix) where I can only go 4 - 5 o'clock with the M-Tac.  The M-Tac can also be adjusted for just about any angle with the new standard clips they use.  They are both quality holsters that I couldnt go without.  And Nate's holsters have definately lived up to everything people said about them before I bought my first one, Im on my third UBG holster now!!!
