UC9 slide not locking back after last round fired

I have 485 rounds thru my new UC9 and it is now my primary carry weapon.  I have had zero problems with it, except that sometimes the slide doesn't lock back after the last round in the mag is fired.  This seems to usually happen after 20-30 rounds into a range session, not on the first or second mag.

Has anybody experienced this?  any ideas on how to correct it?  send it back to Bersa?

Thanks in advance for your input.

The only time something like that happens to me is when, by accident, I rest a finger or thumb on the slide lock which keeps it from going up to lock the slide.

Thanks for your input!  I will keep an eye on that the next time I go to the range.

Anybody have any other ideas or suggestions?

I would disassemble it to the point where I could remove the slide lock and stone off any irregularities or burrs that may exist then lube it up real well.  I would also disassemble all the magazines you may have and look for any areas that may be binding or potentially binding especially after the last round is fired since this is when the mag spring is the weakest.

Re: UC9 slide not locking back after last round fired

I've already exchanged this info with Jay, and it may or may not be related, but ...

my UC9, after close to 1000 rounds, has begun occasionally releasing the slide on it's own when I slap in a new mag.  This happens with either mag I own, both a 10 and 13 rounder.

Maybe there's something weak about the slide lock?

My issue doesn't really bother me too much, as when it does this it always does successfully chamber a round, but I would rather it not.

If this continues, I would send it in and let us repair it. When you start taking a U/C apart there are pieces that are easy to loose, as well as some that are under a direct "boing" factor. Let us know if we can help.

Re: UC9 slide not locking back after last round fired

    Okay, thanks!  I'll do that.

Also, I just purchased three extra 13-rd mags for the UC9.  I noticed that with one of them, the slide won't lock back unless I hold it in place and manually force it to lock back.  Inspecting the magazine side by side with the other magazines, I can't see any difference...?  Defective magazine?

Wow I thought something was wrong with my UC9 because it didn't release the slide when I slaped in a fresh mag.  This is apparently the set up of the BT380 and it can be desireable.  Picture yourself in a gun fight where you need to reload, If you have to work the slide after inserting the mag that's lost time.  If there is nothing broken or about to break then I would just leave it alone!!

If you do not know what your rights are, you do not have them.
