Thanks everyone for your patience the past few days.  The site has been up/down/up/down a bit and there have been a few strage issues to work through as I updated the software. At this time, things are fairly stable and most of the issues have been corrected.  There are still a few lingering bugs out there that I'm working on, and hope to have resolved in the next day or two.

The biggest known issue is the "Logout Bug".  This bug causes you to logout all of a sudden, usually when you're trying to post.  You'll usually notice if you're struck by this bug that it is proceeded by a long page request. In other words, you'll click somthing and it will take a noticible delay before responding.  If you look up in the upper right hand corner of the screen you may notice that it has the "Login" link instead of your user name.

The quick work around is to re-login. But if you just got done posting a bunch of text, it can be a real pain. But, you can save your post by using the back button, going back to your post, and selecting all of your text and doing a right-click, copy.  Then continue forward, login, and then paste your text back into the form.  I know it is a pain, and I am working feverishly to solve it so that it goes away completely!

Again, thanks for your patience. As soon as this logout bug is squashed, I'll start turning on some of the new features of the new software, including the photo gallery and blog features.

 :D    Good news - I checked in this morning and was already logged in.  Now if someone would explain how to properly use an emoticon in the body of a post - I'd appreciate it.  I drug and dropped this one and you can see what happened at the top left.

Jim, to use the emoticons, just click on the picture of the emoticon you want to use and it should insert the right text. .

If that doesn't work, simply surround your emoticon text with brackets [ and ].

Things are looking better, I have to give you guys credit for hanging in there..  I don't have to re-log in every time.  Response time to bring up the site is great and opening different topics is also working fine...

Either I'm doing it wrong or.....replying to PM's isn't working. When you reply it acts like you are replying to a board topic that isn't there..And that's not a big deal..

I updated a few database scripts this afternoon that should fix the performance for non-authenticated users (if you were not logged in, navigating the site was pitifully slow).  I am optomistic that the "logout" bug is also under control.  Please report problems in the tech support forum (http://www.bersatalk.com/forums/21/ShowForum.aspx).

Yeah, me 2. I'm going to dive into this bug first thing tomorrow and hope to get it corrected in the next few days.
