Re: Does anyone have a NAA Mini Revolver?

Not only with just hand loads That silly  utrla lite 357 snub that S&W has  They warn not to use bullets weighting less than a X weight  Factory ammo will do it to. .

You didn't say  if they had auto they would let them use,   Remember  Just thet facts. Madam ALL the facts .

I bet if Sherrif said boys you can carry what you want.  Very few if any would carry a revolver . They have been brained washed in last 30 years need a auto and hicap mags . Glock is somewhat to blame for this  but not totally   This is one reason we now have these police shootings where 2 or 3 officers fire  30 or 40 rounds at the BG with most missing  Hi cap mag mean spray and pray  and that  is replacing aimed fire and range time (Military has got just as bad) .

As the last 2 are more expensive than the officer that just emptys his weapon in a shooting  Replacing 30 or 40 rounds every couple years is cheaper than a teaching program and range time every month.. Remember most Police go their entire time on force and never fire a round in course of their duty.  So instruction and lots of range time Is not high on the  list.

We have other non weapons like taser ,pepper spray .  I bet day will come when some  Sherrif or Cheif of Police will disarm his department and will meet with very little risistance . As many police to day say they would never use their pistols . The antigunners are making inroads in the schools and thats where are Police come from.

    pocketauto:
    Think of this scene:

30+ middle aged or older women who have never shot a pistol before in their life lined up at the tables..would you try to teach them first on semi autos? Do you have that much time on Saturday afternoon? Most of them can't even rack the slide much less load a magazine!! We're talking mooncalfs here.

Their husbands gave up on most that is why they are there. Major is not looking down on women. He is being realistic. Those who want to shoot or only own a semi are given basic lessons in it's operation and how to use it in self defense situations.
Maybe I should have been more clear about how this was presented to the women here.

    BTW,
deputies are not allowed to carry revolver as first sidearm. Glock and it's low bids saw to that.

Also this is old traditions here. women depend on men to open doors and not cuss in front of them. I wouldn't change it for the world. Doesn't make us unequal just smarter.

I have never in my life heard of bullet jump. What kind and age of airweight were you shooting and was it factory ammo?

    Toni

jump is from the bullet jerking around and comoing loose from the crimp moving forward in the case maybe even coming out,ive read about it happening.I have no idea how far the bullet is inside the case before the crimping locks it into place.Do some net searching
I have the 637 Airweight .38 +P,I do carry it and my Thunder .380.
In the articals Ive read ,jump happens(i am not down playing what MT or others say) and is not a real common thing.MOSTLY IN HAND LOADS,I do not use them.
Unload your revolver, put in one shot leave the cylinder open, look at the charge hole with the cartridge in it,my .38 the slug would have to jump 1/4 inch  plus the distance between the front of the cylinder to the frame out of the case to get far enough to lodge against the frame.I have Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel in the gun,Im out of FMJ round to measure them Buy only good quailty SD ammo is for me
Revolver or semi-auto for carry? Its up to the person
During the cold ,snow, rain seasons,I carry the revolver.Hot dry summer Semi-aut,just me though.Be your own judge, study up reading talk forums make the best educated decesion you can

And my gun is cocked and loaded,I hope I get me some sleep tonight.

    JFTR,
S&W recommends not shooting a bullet of less than 120 grain weight in their 357 airlite snubbies because it can cause premature erosion to the face of the cylinder.
    Hope this clears that up,

Re: Does anyone have a NAA Mini Revolver?

I am a wheel gun guy and I have had the mini revolvers off and on over the years.  I thought of them more as cute little novelty guns rather than real weapons.

I would up-grade to at least a .32 or .25 auto for conceal carry.  I often use my Bersa T380 as conceal carry.  But at the house I use larger caliber (.357 or larger) revolvers for my home protection guns.

Re: Does anyone have a NAA Mini Revolver?

I ve been shooting my LR/Mag convertible with Long Rifle only untill last night.I shot the magnum cylinder for the first time and was using Winchester Super X,50 round box.I had 3 duds even after a 2nd hit.None ever with the LR's
Is this normal for 22 mags  to be a little iffy on firing or is it the Winchester's?
    Any suggestions on another brand?

Oh yes, I am shooting the proper cylinder for the round .I would shoot Mags until the cylinder got hot then switch to the LR cylinder for a while.
Thanks for the heads up though.
As far as the Mag cartridge, they will not drop all the way down into the LR cylinder.Saftey for dummies, kinda like a .38 cylinder and a .357 mag cartridge

Re: Does anyone have a NAA Mini Revolver?

Great, just thought I would mention it. Mine is a little tight ejecting the 22 mag, but no misfires yet. 22 ammo is prone to misfire a bit, but be very careful handling a misfire round, they have been known to go off in people's hands when trying to extract.  (Not often) Once the rim is hit the round can be unstable. I always throw them away.

Re: Does anyone have a NAA Mini Revolver?

I think that there were some issues with the hammer springs not being strong enough for Winchester ammo. It's strange since NAA recommends only CCI and Winchester, but I swear that I've read a thread about this on the NAA forum.

The range I go to wants to keep the live duds and dispose of them themselfs which is fine with me,thanks for watching my back

Re: Does anyone have a NAA Mini Revolver?

.22 WMR is a very powerful penetrator-just check the stats.  Not much fpe out the muzzle but will do far more damage than a .22LR in my opinion.

The NAA is a fun, cute little gun, but I waited to get it on sale in .22 mag, and glad I did!  I've shot about 300 rounds through mine without incident, except sticky extraction, in the beginning first few cylinders.

It's solidly constructed, well worth the great price I got it for, too.  I'd highly recommend it.  Gosh-it only weighs 7.6 oz. fully loaded AND in its swivel holster grip, which I'd also recommend.

It's loads of fun to shoot at the range, etc.

There's a pretty good YouTube video you might find of interest, if not already posted:
