I've done a lot of sampling, and my go to is still Miller Lite in the can. Micro brews are great and have their place, but I'm getting cheaper as I get older, and Miller is relatively cheap.

I'll agree with the Mad Tin Hatter, A & W with a scoop of Ice Cream, Guiness comes in close second!!

I'll skip the beer too.  Summer months, blueberry schnapps and diet 7up.  Winter, give me Bailey's on the rocks.  Yeah baby...

    Dead Eye Tom:
OK, I picked up a taste for this in the Bay Area, but don't hold it against me.  Anchor Steam.

Achor Steam is probably the best beer I've ever had, but murphy's stout(or guiness)takes second right now.

    Re: Favorite Beer

As a total beer geek I must say that it depends what I'm having the beer with.  I usually bring the beer to most parties just like I did today.  Today I brought Stones IPA for the afternoon socializing and tri tip.   For the desert which included chocolate cheese cake and Chocolate cream pie I brought Anderson Valley Oatmeal Stout.  When I'm in the company of people who drink cheap beer Sam Adams Boston Lager will help them appreciate a lager made without rice and corn in the mash and does so without causing hysteria of presenting a beer that comes from a craft brewery they never heard of.  I absolutely forbid anyone drinking more than 36 oz of beer in a day, beer is for enjoying, not getting waisted with.  One of my fellow beer enthusiasts brews his own Belgian Style ale and it is really good too. He gave me a glass on Saturday of his new perfected recipe and it was greatly appreciated after hand planing the coffee table top I was working on.  But I must admit that when I go back east to my home state of Pennsylvania I must have a Miller when we watch the ball game because that is just they way the family has done things for a very long time.

    Re: Favorite Beer

My favorite Beer depends on my age and expierience  level :

    1. Age- 17 - 25: Anythine available

    2. Age-25 -35- Heineken & Coors Gold

    3. Age-35-45-  MGD, Corona , Coors Gold & Heineken

    4. Age- 45-Present (58)- Samuel Adams Light & Heineken Light

I traveled the world  and sample some great beers in many countires. However, I found the after-mentioned criteria was predominantly significant in my, and friends selection of beers ! I can afford to be discriminatory in my beer, but the quality and Carb count  of the brew is more important to me presently.
