I had a baffling experience with my BT380.  I had loaded five into the mag and squeezed off the first two shots.  Then the slide stayed open.  I suspected an FTF held the slide (gun always cycled perfectly in 3-350 rds since new), but the next round was still in place in the mag and the breech open lock was holding the slide instead.

I made the mistake of not checking for full mag insertion.  My bad.  But when I hit the mag release, it seemed to make the proper disconnect sound and motion.

I reloaded several mags following the incident without a problem at all.

My question.  Has anyone else ever experienced a "last round open" situation when it wasn't the last round?

If your right handed and shooting 2 handed  People sometimes hit the slide lock with off hand . This happens with other pistols as well.  Just takes a  slight bump and lock. On some pistols  I have been known to hit mag release  since I am left handed   One reason I don't like extened mag release or  over size slide releases  . Neither of those belong on a SD pistol.

This thoery makes sense.  I was using a grip technique that I never used before.  I was doing some night tactical training on the Fourth and the flashlight along the left side of the gun might very well have bumped the slide lock.  It might explain why it has not happened before or since.  Thank you.
