    Tauras 9.

Anyone familiar with the tauras 917-9mm.  I'd like to get a 9 with a rail and this one looked sweet at Bud's.  $402.00

I have the PT145 and am very happy with it.  I "think" the 917 is a newer model, so it should be pretty good.  Give it a test and let us know.

    Re: Tauras 9.

I have had a Taurus pt-111 9mm for years and it has been very reliable. That is  one of the newer handguns and should be reliable, plus they come with a lifetime warranty so they will stand behind their products. It is a nice looking handgun and the price is not bad at all.

    Re: Tauras 9.

20 round yes.  The gun looks good in ss.  Now you make me not so happy re: the service (they claimed lifetime warranty).  Didn't get it yet.  I want a gun with a rail for a laser...sorry MT I know I;m going hear it from you.  Actually this whole thing was a whim that got out of control while I was looking thru Bud's.  I saw the post about the bersa pro 9 and can not find one.  I guess I will wait but holy cow, I mean I had all the info on the screen and was just waiting for the right words from my buds.

    Re: Tauras 9.

Brian.Look at it this way.You are going to hear both good and bad about service no matter what gun you buy.I had to have my Taurus serviced and had no trouble what so ever with them, and would not hesitate to buy another. Now some have had trouble with Taurus service and feel the opposite of me and my experience with them, and you will find the same with any other brand of gun made.I`m not trying to sway your decision on what you buy,but you will find the same stories no matter what.Good luck in your decision.

    Re: Tauras 9.

Just get what you want. i have bought a bad colt (imagine that) and their service was slow and condescending.
I have heard some bad things about taurus but my brother-in-law has an older taurus 357 magnum revolver that he swears by. he has put many rounds downstream. Him and my husband (before he got sick) would spend a whole day shooting that and a 44 magnum among other guns that i was scared of using their handloads!!
the more it kicked the more they liked it. sure wish those days were back.

    Re: Tauras 9.

Taurus is not a bad gun and i do not think you would be unhappy if you purchase one. With that said.best advice i can give is too follow your gut feeling and go with that. They have a lifetime warranty and back their products so you can not loose from that respect,so do your homework and follow your instincts and best of luck in whatever you decide.
