    Bersa 380 CC question

I'm a newbe to the whole bersa world.

Just purchased a bersa 380 cc.  After loading the magazine into the gun, I pulled the slide with the safety on (as I always do on my Beretta PX4 .40 S&W) to chamber the first round.  Then release the safety, tried to fire my first shot (double action)....BUT no go???  Could not pull the trigger all the way and the weapon won't fire!  If I chambered my first round with the safety OFF, then the gun fires.  What gives?  Is this suppose to be normal?  Thanks in advance for any help.  Regards.

So it's broken?  It doesn't fire double action after "safety" release.  I can pull the trigger, the cocker pulls back, but will not strike down.  Anyone else with this problem?  Thanks!

Thanks!  I just Fedex the bersa 380 cc to Ahlmans in Morristown, MN for service.  Appreciate all the input!  Regards

    Re: Bersa 380 CC question

Ahlman's from MN (a certified Bersa Warranty repair shop) sent back the pistol stating that I was using inappropriate ammo.  I was using Remington UMC JHP.  They said the slide did not fully engage back into the correct position so that the gun would not fire DA.  I thought it did slide back fully, but I suppose it might have been off so slightly that I just didn't notice.

They said that Bersa recommends FMJ ammo only for CC!  Is this true?  Isn't JHP the defense ammo of choice?  Can it fire ANY JHP ammo in DA reliably?  If so, which ones?

    Thanks.

    Re: Bersa 380 CC question

You have learned why most people send there pistols to us for warranty. Just because they are listed, does not mean they know of what they speak.

You can use Remington Golden Sabre, or Cor-Bon without any adverse effects on the pistol. If it still acts up, send it to us and we will fix it correctly and get it back to you. Please let us know what you have happen.
