    statcat62,

I can't tell you about the .40 but, my 9mm just keep on a shootin'

Did you say your priest? sounds like he already has someone on his side!

Gander Mountain has s&w .40 m&p mags. for $59.00 so don't feel so bad.

I have an idea--start shooting it.

I have a battered Thunder 9, a gun similar to the Thunder 40. It's never jammed while in my possession. I suspect the Thunder 40 will be very much like that. You probably won't find much of a break in period associated with the gun, but you should have already started that break-in. If there's a problem, it'll show up right away, in the first box of ammo.

I understand the reason for using reloads and cast bullets for a torture test, because 1,000 rounds of factory ammo would cost an arm and a leg. But if you're not an experienced reloader, this could be a serious flaw in your plan. Your lifetime warranty doesn't extend to problems or malfunctions experienced while shooting reloads. All I'm saying here is that the loser could be buying a lot more than just the coffee.

In fact the more I think about it, the more I think that the torture test you have planned is as much an ammo test as it is a firearm test, and because of that, it might not be a fair test at all, since problems that present themselves have as much chance of being ammo-related as gun-related. Just my 2 cents.

Good luck. I hope you do well.

    Re: Bersa Thunder 40

we both shot 175 grain lee cast bullets that I cast using unique powder in both guns gave no problems even with that nasty old unique powder,The bullets were lubed with lee alox bullet lube.A lot of fun we were tired and stunk like burned bullet lube when the shoot out was over.We stoped at I-hop and had a bunch of coffie,I was very impressed with his m&p 40 as He was my Bersa when I told him what I paied for it He was very very impressed,A thousand rounds is a hell of a lot shooting.I know I shot my warrenty to hell but I had to know if my thunder would do it.I WILL keep my bersa 40. note#1 the lee alox is some good stuff . (Keep eyes on target don't look at pretty girls Big Smile [:D].

Thanks for listening to my ranting can't say enough good about the thunder 40 after our shoot out.

I have the 40 cal. First 2 magazine fired, one FT feed per mag. After that 500 rds no problems. I think the the 13 rd magazine spring is what has to be broken in.

    Re: Bersa Thunder 40

pretty much a draw but I had the two spare mags and my sky pilot just had one so I stoped and helped him load mags from time to time. My thumb is the size if a 460 weatherby round and hurts like Devil [6]
