    NEW FIRESTORM 1911

Well, my Firestorm 1911 arrived by muletrain yesterday. ( seems like it took forever) I cleaned it up and off to the range I went.

The gun is really accurate, I have a photo of the gun and a target with the first 8 shots out of the box

The mag. seemed a little tight fully loaded, it wouldn't feed the first two shots at first.

The trigger is very light (see target) very first shot well below the target, after settling in, the balance went where I wanted them to go.

    Finish is very good

ammo was: PMC 230 gr. FMJ

p.s. like RC, it seems to have a loaded chamber indicator

    RT

    Glock 27,

Yeah, I think it's  keeper! Good value 399.00

I heard here that a shop had one in Tx. ( I'm in Fl.)  and I've been looking for these to come out since Oct. last year.  just had to have it!

They are a nice looking handgun and you are right about not being able to find one here in Florida.I have been looking for dealers in a 100 mile radius from me and no one has any.

    jc40,

If you want, I can give you the name and # I think he just got another two or three in.

I had a another gun coming to my FFL so I sorta got a two for one. Twenty dollars otherwise.

Still I think it's still a value.... and I'm not very good at waiting!

RT i appreciate the offer, but unfortunately finances won`t allow a purchase at this time.I was hoping to find someone local that i might be lucky enough to utter those magic words "layaway",but no luck.I do appreciate it though, and wish you the best of luck with your purchase.

Hi RT, I hope your like'n yours as much as I'm lik'n mine. My FS Delux is a little mag picky but other then that, no problems. I have that same gap (loaded chamber indicator). I dont think its much of an issue. Was a little worried at first but I'm letting the future x wife shoot it for a while. Shes gone through a couple hundred rounds and so far no kabooms. So I think its just the way they are.

    Good luck and enjoy

    Rollin' Thunder:
I have a photo of the gun and a target with the first 8 shots out of the box in the photo gallery "just for fun",  can't seem to get them to post here. (I need a lesson for this)

    RT

RT, once you have pictures posted in the photo section, you can post them in any post on the open forum very easily. When you are posting, go to the task bar just above the message box and click on the little picture of mountains and sun, then navigate to the gallery where your pictures are, select and download. It's as easy as falling off a log. Here, I'll do the target picture, and then you can do the gun picture. Here you go. Click on the thumbnail to enlarge.

Nice shooting, btw. And congratulations on getting the new 1911.

Mason you are totally off the wall....Big Smile [:D] so your letting your "future xwife" shoot it because you were a little worried at first. Now that she's got a couple hundred down range and no kabooms. You can cancel the insurance policy and take your gun back!

    Re: NEW FIRESTORM 1911

I just got back from the club..HOT is the word down here in the ZOO.  Ran another fifty Aguila ball today and 20 Cor-Bon + P that puts it over 400 with all sorts of fodder. We put a trigger device on it today and it broke at 3.75 lbs. I am sure it was about 5 lbs when I got it, but you guys know me and my KG-10 treatment. The field strip is twice as easy now. When I first got it the parts were tight, Why am I saying this, it's  the same with all new guns.  I did need remove the rear sight set screw and add some loc-tite blue to it to keep it from coming loose.

    Re: NEW FIRESTORM 1911

RT, I hope you cleaned it really well and got all my fingerprints off of it.  I hope it didn't have any dings on it, I promise I didn't drop it on the concrete any when I was drooling all over it.  As I said, Randy Ward did have another in the case when I was there Saturday afternoon.  I just hope he continues to be able to get them when I have saved up enough greenstamps.  Right now I just want two more guns, A 308 VEPR and a 1911.  RT, do you like the Taurus or the Firestom better or can you tell a difference?
