  Part came in this mourning Fedex, 10 minutes later I had it back togeather with no problems. I think I did the right thing not letting it go back to Karh, as far as speed in repair goes. I did some safety checks on it to make sure it was in good working order, it cycles easier now than it did when I got it..very smooth. I would love to escape out to the range today but its not looking good, have some family comming in tomarrow from out of town and have alot to do...Its killing me, wanting to fire this pistol and check it out for the first time. I'm not going to do a review and range report do to the fact I would have nothing new to offer you pro's on the 1911. I will let you know how it shoots, and you know me, I might have to post a Pic or 9.

I can't take it anymore ,yard will have to wait until tomarrow. All I can think about is shooting that new 1911. esp since I have had it for days now. I like it allready, since it broke we have history togeather. Gone to the Range!!!!!!!!!!

 Was a nice day to be at the range and lucky for me one bench left.

   Minutes away now from firing my new AO 1911A1 for the first time. Well..to tell the truth my first time firing a 1911 period. So I set up shop and wait for a laspe in shooting so I can go hang a 15 and a 25 yard target. I scored a 50 count box each of CCI,WWB, and about 20 wolf I had setting around.

 

   Time for the best part the shooting! I suddenly get an idea (every now and then I get one of those). I decided to share my first time firing the A0 1911 with my Bersatalk friends, with a small video clip. I get all set up to shoot and then rememberd that I had just worked on this pistol and I would look pretty stupid if it did not work or Jamed. Oh well..started the video and with one quick vision of it blowing up in my face pulled the trigger.

 How many of you pencil necks were looking at the girl in the background and not me and the 1911? It's ok if you were, your my kind of people. The 1911 was awesome and preformed great, no FTF, FTE nothing, 120 rounds perfect. Loved the trigger and the recoil and it was accurate. I blame all Bersatalk members for me not having a 1911 6 months ago when I started.

Wow need all that to go to range . Gee I stick ear plugs in  tell kids to hold breath and go to bottom of pool and fire  . Never build pool in shooting lane real pain   The keep wanting a breath  and might pop up in middle of rapid fire string. . But does prepair them for  military or streets of Lexington.

You did fine for first time and GI sights   Trigger takes a little getting used to  if been shooting a DA/SA gun.

 Shoot  the SA 1911 first . If you go other way  you might get a AD . When finger been doing a DA/SA for a 100 or so rounds 1st shot from a 1911 is way to quick  Lot of difference in triggers.

Good shooting AsH and excellent report. Still photos, audio/video, funny narration and eye candy backdrop, you've really raised the bar for range reports.

what I would not give to be able to walk out my back door and be able to fire away. If I fired a Gun in my back yard the law would be here faster than I could get back inside. I feel uncomfortable even cleaning or working on a gun on my back deck which is large and nice for fear of a neighbor calling saying I am brandishing or something. The lady that lives to the right of me, her son shot himself with a Pistol. about 2 years ago maybe less. He died, Police ruled it an accidental shooting. The mention of a gun one day in the past sent her running home crying. A few days later she came over and said she was sorry that the mere mention of a gun reminds her of what happened to her son. she said she wished he had never gotten the gun in the first place and he would still be alive if he had not. Maybe I guess. Made her husband get rid of his after it happened. I felt like saying it was not the gun that killed your son, But what good would that do.

 Yes I take alot of stuff to the range with me...LIke to clean my Pistol's before I leave :)

 I might get some novak sights since they are located down the street from me.

I was having that exact same problem!! That guy should have known better!     It looks like he needs a pic-nic table to set all that stuff on !!

OhWell atleast that feller' seemed to be enjoying his new toy. lol

 Welcome to the 1911 Family Ash it gets to be a very expensive family before long because you can't just stop at one 1911, you will get addicted REAL fast, there's nothing like it and it seems that you have the build-rebuild thing going good also.
