    FAKE BERSA MAGS ON MARKET

This is a note to everyone, we recently have had a batch of Magazines show up that have all the correct printing on them, but they are not genuine Bersa mags. The easy way to tell is that there are no witness holes in the sides of the body of the magazine. They have different bases, magazine latch notches, and WAY different followers. Please be advised. Let us know if you know where they are coming from.

    Thanks,

Re: FAKE BERSA MAGS ON MARKET

There was a seller on ebay that was putting out Bersa mags, CC type of bases that supposedly fit the Thunders magazine, etc.

Re: FAKE BERSA MAGS ON MARKET

    Hi everyone,

It has come to our attention that somebody is knocking off the factory original magazines, going as far as putting the Industria Argentina on the side. Please be aware that these are causing malfunctions in the pistol that could eventually void your warranty. Please only purchase magazines from authorized dealers. Factory original magazines come in a Bersa blister pack.

If anyone has purchased one of these knock-off magazines, please contact me ASAP. We need some help on finding out who is passing these magazines off as originals.

    Thanks

    Mike

I'm wondering if whoever produced these fake mags copied mags from an older model Bersa, such as a Model 97 or 383. Have any of our members actually seen one of these fake mags?

Golly  that fake mag in the picture looks exactly like a 383DA mag which WILL insert and function (somewhat)  in a Thunder 380.   Hmm [^o)]    Here is a (poor) picture of mine.  regards   jab

ProMags are generally known to suck, some folks get one that works. They aren't marked or sold as factory mags though.

The ones in question are marked as factory Bersa mags and sold as such, but they are not. I don't think they have nailed the source yet to the best of my knowledge.

Re: FAKE BERSA MAGS ON MARKET

Well, if there wasn't a market for Bersa mags (i.e. low supply, high prices), there probably wouldn't be this problem . . . what will it take for Bersa to increase the production of factory mags to eliminate this issue?

I wouldn't purchase from them anyway if they don't know the difference between a clip and a magazine.
