Caliber .380

The frame is made of a glass injected nylon , hardened steel slide, blued. Trigger pull is 8 lbs, with a trigger pull length of .5". It is very close in make to the Kel-tek P3AT, The LCP has a Beefier ejector, Different spring and a manual slide lock ( Slide does not stay open after the last round) There is no manual Safety. Its a tad heavier than the Kel-Tec. The little Pocket pistol has a great feel and concealing it is a breeze.

Got to the range this mourning at alittle after 9:00 am, just one shooting bench left open so I set up to test the Ruger LCP. I had 100 count WWB, 50 PMC Target Load round ball, 12 hollow point reloads. I set up a target at 15 yards.

No sooner had I put the Ruger LCP on the table, one of the guys at the next bench came over and said "Those Kel-Tec's are nice little Guns." Its a Ruger I told him. "Wha...a Ruger...really? I could tell he wanted to chk it out so I handed it to him. He said.."It really has a great feel to it, did kel-Tec make the LCP for Ruger?" Nope, Ruger makes it. I think to myself ...Thats it! there has to be a lawsuit comming somewhere down the Line. "How does it shoot?..he said. I don't know I have never fired it yet. Loaded up and fired 6 shots at the target, It preformed like a dream. Trigger was stiff, the travel was long...Just how a pocket pistol should be. The trigger broke just when I thought it should and it was very accurate. I did notice that if I put my finger on in the trigger at the first nuckle, that I did even better with it. After about 24 to 30 rounds the guy that came over was still standing behind me at the bench. Do you want to shoot it? I said. "Sure...If you don't mind" he replied. The movie below is him shooting the Ruger LCP. (notice the light recoil).

You need quicktime to play it, its free http://www.apple.com/quicktime/
The recoil is lighter than I thought it would be and it gets back on Target Fast. The sites are crude at best but get the job done.

I moved up to 15 feet to the target and shot 6 rounds.
Fired off 112 rounds total with the 12 hollow point reloads and no FTF or any problems at all, It ate everything I feed it. It did start to hurt the web of my hand after a while but didn't hurt my wrist at all. A range gun it is not!

Great size! and the cut and finsih is A-1

Field strip was easy and fast!

Over all I am very happy with the Ruger LCP, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a small pocket pistol. Its perfect for a walk your dog or a quick run to the 7-11, and for a hot summer day when you want to dress light.
