Is this Ballistic chart correct? 10mm

Re: Is this Ballistic chart correct? 10mm

What manufacturer made the test rounds?

They explode?  NOT!!!!  They expand!  So do lead bullets.  Terminology says that they aren't ballistic experts.

Somehow, I don't think that HPs leave a barrel white hot either.

Look at the bullets depicted.  If they are only comparing caliber, they should be using the same manufacturer and if that's the case, why is the 10mm so much bigger than the .45 and 40 rounds.  Isn't a 10mm very close to the same as a .40?

Re: Is this Ballistic chart correct? 10mm

first link this so we can read all of it.

The top I have seen befor but the bottom is BS as far as Iam concerned

    The 10mm is a 40cal.  Its what the 40 S&W came from.

To keep simple 40S&W is to 10mm   What 380 is to 9mm   same general idea.

Re: Is this Ballistic chart correct? 10mm

It seems reasonable to assume that if a bullet exploded on contact, it would do less damage, not more, with less penetration and multiple wound channels. The illustration shows a single large wound channel and a single projectile at the end of it.

It seems misleading. It's like they're trying to say it works like a miniature artillary H.E. shell. What's up with that?

I seen it on another forum and thats all the info I have. Only other thing the post said at the top was "10mm loaded with double tap ammo:" No link to the source. 10mm round that explodes sounded funny to me. wanted to hear what you guys had to say about it.

Is this Ballistic chart correct? 10mm

Nope.  Photoshopped Bunk.  Like Mike T, I've seen the original chart, and it has nothing like the 10mm track.  No, 10mm is not "explosive".  Even a real expanding rifle bullet does not leave a wound channel like that, and real rifle bullets are MUCH more powerful and do a WHOLE LOT more damage than any 10mm, even Buffalo Bore or Double Tap.

In reality, terminal ballistics of the 10mm when loaded optimally for SD is roughly comparable to that of the .357 Magnum when loaded optimally for SD.  And no, neither of them are explosive.  Even when you talk about the Buffalo Bore and Double Tap loadings for them.

It seems pretty clear they are just making fun of it, I don't think anyone is taking it seriously.

If that had been real  The damage from the 45 acp would have taken the entire picture to show just a 1/10000000000% f the damage .  Remember a close miss with a 45acp in Fl.  Is what caused the  hurricane  that destroyed the Gulf Coast and NO La. This is why you must practice with you 1911 can't afford a miss.

Its been said that Moses fired a 45acp over the red sea . Thats why in parted and  the people could cross.
