    NEW AMERICAN CLASSIC ll

    Attachment: IMG_1804ss.jpg

Hi this is Dee Dee..Reginald's Daughter.

He got a new American Classic ll today. He forgot how to take one of these 1911's apart, he's getting old you know. ( honestly, I am taking dictation here and she won't let me take out the OLD word) He went on YouTube and saw how to do it. He got half way through taking it apart and forgot what he was doing. I told him how to do it and he said I was right. I don't know why he did it ten more times I remembered how to do it after watching YouTube.

RC here this kid of mine blows me away, I had a USGI issue 1911 in Vietnam and she has to guide me through a basic field strip. The gun looks great for the money and like we hear here all the time I cant wait to take it to the club and shoot it. I have attached as picture link below, remember when you bring a picture in click on it again to make it bigger.

(MT or Royce) if you check out the space (see the picture I marked.)at the extractor claw give me your opinion. I have been told this is a loaded chamber indicator? with one in the pipe you can see brass, kind of like looking at the same area on a Kel-Tec.

Here is a pic of Dee Dee with the 1911 and the link to the main pictures.

    Re: NEW AMERICAN CLASSIC ll

Nice pics RC. I am no 1911 guru, but I would be suspect of that being a loaded chamber indicator. When I was in the beginning stages of looking for my first 1911 one of the things a gunsmith told me to watch for in a used one was the chamber being flush with the breechface, without binding up before lockup. He told me that binding or a gap was a sign of either wear in the link and lugs or a poorly fitted replacement barrel.
It made sense to me, but I never found one with either condition. Is the back of the chamber slightly cut out or does all of it stand away from the breechface?

    Great pictures!

Tell Dee Dee the hat looks like it's getting "broken in".

I noticed that the box says metro arms on it. Does metro arms sell this 1911 itself and make the same gun for firestorm, like Bersa does?

I have a Firestorm Deluxe coming from Lubbuck Tx. should be in by the beginning of the week.

    I can't wait!

Hey give us a range report/ review

If I take it down to look close tonight the kid id going to tell Ma on me.  Picture 1796 shows it is flush with the breechface at the top of the barrel and off set at the side. the slide conforms with this configuration.  Ill just wait on the Gurus to pipe in on this.

Same gun from the same place with a different roll-mark. Yours will say Firestorm, mine says American Classic II.   Colorado Gun Works will be the warranty center same as Bersa.  Give it a good cleaning, they oil it down for shipping!  MT is  right, it's a lot of gun for the money!Smile [:)]

That picture does show it nicely, and alleviates any thoughts I had about weirdness.

Hi Dee Dee, Nice hat Smile [:)]

Wow RC... Congrats! Nice gun.. Smile [:)] and great set of pics, thanks for sharing. Field striping will come back to ya in short order. I use to do my dads all the time when I was younger and then years later I finally got my own and took a bit to get the hang of it again. Watch launching that recoil spring plug. I think my record here is something like 12 feet. I'm not sure if they have an official "loaded chamber indicator" or not but it sure will function as one.. well kinda if your eyes are better then mine. I personally subscribe to the old school of its only unloaded after I have racked the slide a couple of times then look.. then feel with my finger.. Thats my "loaded chamber indicator" Anyway, it looks way good and I hope you like yours as much as I'm liking mine. Mine is a bit picky as to the mags I use. It will drop a kimpber mag while shooting, and the colt mags are not much better. I have a couple of mags with no id or markings on them and they work fine. all are 7 round mags except for the factory 8 rnd mag that came with the gun. Let me know how yours is. Looking forward to your range report. Good Luck!!!

Hey RC, is the slide fit close enough that the KG 10 makes a difference?  I ordered some after our previous msgs and haven't used it yet because my slide on my AO is pretty loose and I really like the feel of the Slide Glide.  How about using both or is that overkill?

I will contact Royce.. I agree you need to the smarts to know if a gun is loaded...Every gun I have is always loaded at all times, every gun I have ever been in contact with is always loaded. If you clear a gun in front of me then hand it to me it's still loaded...UNTIL I clear it myself.

I don't think I would use KG 10 on the slide, it migrates and will make a mess of your clothes on your carry gun. I use it on all my triggers and on the Bersa it's great for the decocker.
