New look for 380 Concealed Carry (nickel finish version)

At first I was disappointed, but the new look is growing on me.  There's clearly a two-tone thing going on in the newest run (not counting the black grips) with the slide looking pretty much like the old finish, but the frame now more grayish (The Missus says bronzish).

Other changes:  the magazine release button is now waffle-faced, and there are colored dots (reddish orange) in little craters of the diminutive rampsights that I don't think were there in the old model.

Here's a pic of the old and new:

I purchased my 380cc (Matte Finish) about 1.5 months ago and the same applies to mag release (waffle-faced) but not the rampsights!   Interesting . I wonder if the modifications are being done in phases

Maybe it would be helpful to someone at some point to know when (in terms of serial number) each change was introduced:
    - My two-week old matte 380CC does have the sight dimples (filled with white paint) and they really help.  Its serial number starts 917xxx.
    - My new nickel 380CC (shown and described in the first post of this thread) serial number starts 907xxx.

Well for what it is worth here are two pieces to the puzzle:

1  - 856xxx already had the waffled mag release incorporated into the design

2 -  856xx does not have the sight dimples (Wish it had!!)

Yeah, I noticed this at the Fun Show a few weeks ago.  It was only one stand that had the weird new one though and I was thinking something was wrong with it, LOL.  That is good news about the dimples on the Matte.  I noticed the Nickel had it but no one had a matte and I am glad to hear the did it on both.

This new one might grow on me, but so far I think I prefer the old nickel though.

Me, too.  I can only hope the new finishes are more resistant to flaking (or have some other advantage not readily apparent).
