MT is probably too busy trying to figure out who owns the rock in the river over there that the next state wants to claim.
So, I'll help stir the pot, afterall, I haven't posted anything negative about Glucks or KT in a couple of weeks now.
This is gonna be looooong
Two years ago I figured I'd buy a P11 just to have a small 9mm; went to my LGS to buy it but he showed me a SKYY; well after looking and playing with both of the for about an hour the SKYY won because of better finish, better feel, and overall just better IMHO; OH yeah i got the "treatment" whenever i mentioned SKYY, if you know what i mean. A year later and several hundred rounds later, the assembly pin sheared the head off and i had to return it to skyy because there was no way for me to remove it myself. Got in back in about 3 weeks, have put several hundred more rounds thru it and no more problems.
Jump forward to about 3 months ago. I figured i'd take the chance and get a P3AT just to have a pocket pistol. Well while waitng for LGS to get one in, I read about the LCP, and figured I'd just wait and get one of them. Wouldn't you know that in my 2 month wait he also got in the P3AT, so once again I got to handle them both side by side for and hour or so. By now I guess you can tell by my sig whick one I got.
The LCP is about a 5th generation P3at. How long KT been making them and still having problems. In the 2 months I waited for the LCP, Ruger identified 2, 3, or 4 problems from copiying the KT, Guess what, In 3 months time they have addressed those problems and are now producing a pistol that works right out of the box or bag, just like they should. I know mine is the lastest revision because it has the relief slot cut into the frame befor it was blued.
Now, right outta the box with a box of Monarch 94 gr HP(Green box from Acadamy) 50 rounds 0 problems; went home took it apart and cleaned it. I already have 8-10 boxes of reloaded 380 for my Bersa pimp, so i figured i'd give them a try. Trouble feeding right off the bat; turns out that although loaded to correct OAL that works fine in the Bersa they were about .020" to long to feed in the LCP.
So, I went back and seated 100 of the .020" deeper and whammo= no problems again, woooooohooooo; I'm up to around 400 rounds thru it now and still no problem. It's no any fun to shoot more that 50 rounds at a time, though.
OK< MT, your turn now, but rember before you start the copycat stories, it's no different that Kimber S&W, Dan Wesson or even the new Firestorm 1911!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Opps, yep it is different, most of those guys are smart enough to PATENT a good thing.
