Vermont and Alaska seem to have it right.

    Vermont and Alaska seem to have it right.

    If I understand how it works in Vermont and Alaska, if you can buy a gun you can carry a gun.  They don't have CHL permits, licenses etc.  Seems to me to be the right way to go.  Here in Texas we have a substantial bureaucracy that "allows" us citizens to obtain a license to carry. That's the law of the land down here, as it most other states except a few on the left and right coasts.

    Yes, and it seems that most states have that "substantial bureaucracy" that ties us down with all of their red tape and restrictions, plus burdens us with the cost of paying for all of it. Water, sewer, garbage, roads, law enforcement. We've got to have that stuff. But every incoming administration feels like they have to "do something", so they slather on another layer of bureaucracy and it's just getting worse and worse.

    Oh, my, I nearly started off on another one of my rants.   Sorry.
