    380 cc let's pretend

Hey guys... got a question for a 380 cc owner.  Let's pretend that a person was to buy a 380 cc but could not tell the little woman because she doesn't even know about the 9 he bought.  Ok so now he shot the gun and wants to clean it.  The slid disassembly lever works and the slide starts to come off but the slide will not tip up enough to come off when I  .... I mean he tries to pull it back and off.  What is he doing wrong.  He doesn't want to force it.  Let me know and I'll pass the word on. Thanks

Can't help with the CC problem your "Friend" is having but I do understand the other issue. Wifey knows about the BT380 I got last month but would not understand the UC 9 that followed me home last Thusday. Guess I'll use her answer " OH this old thing, I've had it forever"

Good luck I know someone will answer other question soon.

    Re: 380 cc let's pretend

I got the opposite problem.  When I returned from Nam the last thing I wanted to see was a gun.  Then the wife bought herself a shotgun, then she started reloading it. Then came the handguns. Well I just couldn't let my manhood be crushed by the armed feminist movement going on in my house.  I must not be upstaged. So I began my quest, first big game hunting, then shooting sports and so on it went.  My only problem is she was a better all around shooter than I was. Oh well, in my home today it's lets horse trade for a gun, and  the other says let me see what you are looking at and maybe I can play with it too. I can see this thread is going southWink [;)]

when I came back from the range last time my backbag must have weighed 30 pounds.  I found a good deal on 9 target stuff so I bought a bunch and it's only a matter of time till this all catches up.  I guess somewhere along the line I'll have to start owning up.... but not for awhile.

Anyway... back to the problem...the slide doesn't want to come off.  I get it started  but it doesn't quite want to come off.....

    Re: 380 cc let's pretend

At first mine would do the same thing. Iwould just keep at it till I finally kinda forced it off. Turns out it was binding at the front on the recoil spring. I found by putting the front end of the spring at the 12 oclock position (front being the very end of the spring coil). It would not act up like that again. Trick was to get it apart and I just keept messing with it. Not quite forcing but being firm.

Make sure the disassembly piece (lever on the right side of the frame) is pushed all the way down as you pull back the slide.  Wiggle the slide a bit and it should come off.  Make sure you get the recoil spring back on the barrel the correct way.  The smaller end goes on first.

You may have to do quite a bit more wiggling when you wife finds out about the purchase.  Good luck with both problems. Wink [;)]

That little bit is very important for ease of (dis)assembly.

Might I suggest buying her some expensive presents.  Then you can casually say "don't worry about doing anything for me <insert term of endearment>, I found a couple of little toys for me when I was out too.   So we're even."

You could also take the tactic that you invested in these weapons to protect her because you are so worried about her safety and always want her to be certain that she is safe.

Another option is you could give her the choice of one of the guns.  Tell her that you bought them both for her and you've only been practicing with them to break them in.  Although then she gets to pick which she wants.  Hmm, loss of a gun and saving your butt.  Is that one worth it?

your friend....... does he prefer the doghouse or the couch? Remember there's two types of men out there, hen-pecked and liars.

Now, the best defense is a damn good offense! So you... errr your friend should talk to his wife about a current crime, let her digest that for a couple of days then bring in the guns and show her the new " his and hers".

Well I got the slide off and you all were right.  I kept playing with it and it came off.  So one of my problems is solved.... I still have that little problem of being a sneak and a liar  ... but heh... one thing at a time.... the slide is off!

Just one more lie and all done.....tell her it (380cc) is for her and go get another for yourself...Wink [;)]....I'd wait awhile before springing the 9 on her though....she might want it too if you give her the cc model...Big Smile [:D].

    Re: 380 cc let's pretend

Oh ya, I get a kick out of reading these. My wife said as long as I keep up on the House husband chores and cook the meals the gun fun is all mine. She tolerates my weakness quite well. After 34 years together she has me pretty much figured out. I am the head of my house hold when ever she lets me. Playing dumb is so easy.

Pearls, 9mm, same as the gun.  Always works for me.

    Re: 380 cc let's pretend

Not sure what I'm going to do. My future x wife is always draggin a new gun home. She has it bad. I sneak a few from the bottom of the pile and sell em off for beer money from time to time. Once in a while I get a keeper outta the deal. She has them all over the closed floor. I dont even have space for my shoes. I find a new one from time to time on top of the pile. She gives me that old "what new gun? Oh that one geeze, I've had that one for months dont you remember shooting it last Christmas???" and of course its like 2 days old. Its not easy living here with the Queen of Masonia
