Hi,

What should I use to clean the matte finish on the Thunder 9 duo tone pistol?  There are stains trace on the slide and it is almost impossible to clean.

Hello, and welcome to Bersa Talk.

You haven't indicated what you've already used to try to remove the stain. I'd say try Hoppe's or Break Free CLP and see what happens. But maybe you already tried that. You didn't say.

Maybe you could post a photo of the stain. For instructions on posting pictures, check your inbox.

Thanks for the response.  I tried an ordinary gun cleaner (G96), oil and even methyl hydrate (alcool).  Someone even told me to use acetone.

I posted a photo under the name "cleaning matte finish", but the result looks worst than the reality!!!  I don't have any artistic talent with a numeric camera.... 

I don't know were the photo landed on the site!

I think we've had one or two others with a similar cleaning problem, and I don't remember what they did to resolve the issue. Sorry.

You're right, the picture's not much help. Mostly it's just out of focus. Digital point and shoot cameras have a hard time focusing on dark objects, expecially in low light with dark backgrounds. If you could try again, this time with a little more light on the subject, and give the camera a second or two to focus on your subject, I bet you could get better results. (See, I can't help you with your gun problem, but I can advise you on photography).   

This is the first time I've seen a duo-tone T9, incidentally.

I thought duo tone's were a black frame with stainless slide.  This looks more like a nickel version of the gun.

Try some metal polish on it and see if the cloth turns black.  If so, it is a polishable metal.  It may need to be polished a bit.

You are right, the photo is ugly....

The barrel looks chrome, but actually, it is matte black!!!

I will try to put new photos on the site, after putting new batteries in that camera.

Except that finish, the gun is perfect.  Well made, easy to clean and nice looking.
