    Re: Survivalist

There are a lot more than anyone could possibly know.  I've been on quite a few boards that are survival oriented and there are a lot of readers that don't post.  They read what those in the know have to say and then they do it, whatever IT is.  Their way of preparing for an uncertain future.

All I had to do was talk to my Great Grandma and my Dad.  They had it all figured out from the last depression, WWII rationing and the dustbowl era, when the central plains states had their severe drought.  They both told our family from the time we could walk, that if it could happen back then, it can happen again.  Then I joined the boy scouts and they just re-enforced the "Be Prepared" mindset.  Then, when I started browsing the net and started seeing so many preparedness sites popping up, I knew something was amiss and sure enough, here it comes, in one form or another.

I'll keep my guns, freedom and money. You keep the *change*.

Year 2012 shows up in that story. Wounder were you heard that .

No one person can hold out by themselves . Like it or not must be a group action.  Like a dozen familes of BT members banding together .   Of course those with Bersa and 1911 will be sipping drinksParty!!! [<:o)] on mother ship served by Elvis  While you glock owners will be serving Hillary and Bam bam Devil [6]

I heard even Bill has a Bersa hidden a way. Wink [;)]

He must keep it next to his Cigars!

Little voices say the second civil war is near. They say John Titor has seen it, fought in it.

    Re: Survivalist

Ok, so here is a history lesson It is said to have come from a teacher out of our future. Goes something kinda like this.

While the minority president is in rule. America gets serious about 2 different opinions. One group is independent and wishes to stay self ruled and self-sufficient. The other group is content with letting the Gov. take care of things and telling people what to think. At first each feel it’s just their constitution right to be different but soon the "others" want to change the constitution. Sides start forming up and Independents mostly move out to the country while the dependents move into cities. The 2 sides become hicks and city slickers. For the most part, the police and military are forced to be "slickers" (But not all expecally some of the heartland Guard units) while the thinkers and doers become hicks. At first things are good for the slickers and hard on the hicks. As more violence breaks out hicks take quite a beating but soon they start to organize. Hicks learn how to feed themselves and become self-sufficient. And how to fight to survive. After a few years it becomes total civil war. Hick’s stay fed and slickers become hungry. Doesn’t take long for the world economy to suffer total break down Things get tense everywhere. Finally somebody turns a bunch of germs loose on Israel and not long after that the Middle East is a pool of glass. The slickers keep getting more hungry and start eating rats and each other. Things are bad for the hicks too but least they are not quite as skinny. The shotgun will be the weapon of choice. As the rest of the world continues to get hungry things start to go bad everywhere. The slickers control the ports but nothing coming or going. The hicks control most of the food source but everything becomes a local economy. Local farms provide dairy/beef for local farmers providing grain/feed. Local cottage manufacturing making most everything. Some hi tech left in Hicksville but most hi tech remains with the now very hungry slickers. Finally as things turn more and more bloody Allot of Solders are starving and decease ridden. Healthy ones start to rethink and join up with the hicks. The slicker and the hicks have a stalemate. As the world starves the Bears decide they need food more then hi tech and nuke a few choice US cities to turn the tides. US 2nd Civil war turns into WW III. After about 100 million dead in US and 1 bil worldwide things start to settle down. Coast cities are gone new US capitol is now in Nebraska. US has no more states but 5 districts and US is ruled by 5 presidents of the council 1 from each district. With volenteer single term Congress and Senate. Our original constitution is still the law interpreted as it was written Expecally the 2nd adm. Life will be different but better. Not backward but much more localized. Most everything will be produced in local proximity. Modern amenities will exist. Hard work will prosper but laziness will not.

All of this was claimed to have started near the end of our next presidents term.. Maybe December 21, 2012?

Much more to it then this but is the overview as the story was told.

Scary! I hope its just a story but there are those that believe this really is a history lesson from our future and is to be true.

Gonna put my tin hat back on.
