    Thunder 40 Cal.

When I fire my 40 cal the slide release will lock back. I don't know if I am hitting it with my finger from the recoil  or what. It only does it once in awhile, I just hit the release and keep firing. Anyone else have this problem?

Somebody once posted they had the opposite problem, their slide wouldn't lock back after the last shot.  Royce told him to shoot it left handed and see if that fixed it, which it did.  It seems his right thumb was resting on the slide release just enough to keep it from engaging.  I would think that if you are hitting the slide release from underneath and pushing it up into lock position that you could test it out by also shooting it left handed.  If the problem goes away you'll know it's your grip and can make adjustments as needed.

    Good luck,

    Bronson

Hi bobc, I had my 45UC break its slide release (40 & 45 are almost the same). It would lock open with every round fired but I could chamber each round manually buy pulling the slide back by hand and let it "slam" home but the slide would lock back again after every round fired. I sent it in to Colorado gun works and was repaired in short order under warranty. Good Luck
