    gunsofkaty:
Well guys I am a FFl dealer and I own quite a bit of guns and have sold guns for a very long time. The XDM was brought out to have the market cornered against glock. As you all know glock .40 cal pistol had 15 round plus one. Well all the xd's had high cap mags but not more than the Glock .40 cal. So the specs and physical features are different but it was mainly to beat out glock on high caps. As everyone is aware glock magazines are interchangable. I could put a full size clip in a model 23 making is a sub compact pistol with 15 round plus 1. Well xd plans to do the same so you can make their sub compact and compact. I have both glock and XD and both are great guns, they really are. At this time Glock is still selling good but XD's are selling more due to thumb safteys now and the extra safteys that make family men and wimen feel comfortable having in their home. As for Michael - I'm sure everyone is intitled to their opinion however if you actually knew anything about guns which you obviously don't , Glock and XD are the number on selling guns to law inforcement and Agencys around the world. Money talks and it sells for a reason, no for the name but for the fact that you can shot thousands of rounds and not have to clean them and they will still shot. The action is loose like the AKs' so it will never jam. No other guns will test against a torture test, even if it is made of steel and wood, good luck cleaning and maintaining it in emergency situations. If you have any questions feel free to ask I can easily look the guns up through my distrubitors. Thank you.

I handled and shot a Hi-Point .40 at the range. To tell you the truth it didn't feel much different than a Ruger P series and it went bang every time the trigger was pulled. The grip fits your hand excellent. Top heavy (to me) and not the kind of balance I like in a pistol but great gun for glove box and pretty darn accurate. I think they have a lifetime warranty like the keltec.

I'm not a huge HP fan, but they do work and are inexpensive. The lifetime warranty they offer is as good as any I have ever seen or heard of though. I saw an article somewhere about them replacing Katrina damaged guns that sat in salt water and corroded all to hell no questions asked. If you send in one of their guns they either fix it or replace it quickly with no hassle.
That's service the "premium" manufacturers could emulate.

As for Michael - I'm sure everyone is intitled to their opinion however if you actually knew anything about guns which you obviously don't

Well now that a fine way to start out.  I normally welcome new members to MY HOUSE  but you found the thin ice first step.

I do know enough.     I don't call them clips  like you did   ( I could put a full size clip in a model 23 ) Correct name is magazine   BUT SINCE YOU A DEALER YOU REALLY KNOW THAT ALL READY   Don't you ?

Selling guns to law enforcement  doesn't mean  a thing Glock almost gives them to LE  because its smart marketing. People see cops packing and say Good enough for them So I need one.  As far as the Springfields XD  go I haven't said anything about them Other than I dislike plastic . Lets see Who really makes and where are the XD made  in USA  or like their 1911 out of country.

MY DISLIKE OF GLOCK COMES FROM TERRIBLE GRIP ANGLE  STUPIED TRIGGER AND THICK GRIPS . Besides.they have more ND's than other guns. Most police aren't interested in guns and are poor shots. Glock fits them fine  easy to fire even by accident and lot of trys to make up for lousy markmanship. . NYPD  hit ratio dropped 10% after Glocks issued. Their ND went sky high and as YOU know they have the so called NY trigger now.

I am tired of hearing about  Glock relieabilty  Lots of posts on Glock boards about breakage and jaming.  They have settled several lawsuits  and they refuse to use the name recall or advise civ. owners their might be a problem. My Dealer Smart man  doesn't carry Glocks. he does carry the XD line.

So it will never jam   Lets look at Glock talk today shall we

    By Alpental   on Glock Talk

I have never seen or even heard of a Jam like this! I had an entire round stove pipe in my Glock today at the range.

What happened!? Here is some background information. This is my 6 month old Glock 27 that has approximately 600 rounds though it. Through 600 rounds I’ve only had one other Jam which happened after firing without a mag in it. It was a quick range trip, only about 50 rounds and I was shooting Winchester white box. The jam happened with a +0 pierce grip pinky extension mag and it happened on the last round of the magazine.

After this jam I also had another strange occurrence. This time using a different mag (+1 pierce grip extension) the gun had a very strange recoil impulse. It felt as if the gun had a two stage delayed recoil. It felt like the slide stopped for a millisecond right before it finally slammed home. It felt so strange I stopped to check if I had a squib load. My best guess is that the round got momentarily stuck on the feed ramp.

After I took it home to clean it also noticed that my recoil spring assembly seems to be slowly breaking apart. In the picture below notice the area where I have pulled back the spring and notice that the ring which encloses the spring is tearing off.

Wow 6 mo old and 600 rounds Recoil system screwed and a real JAM    NEVER SAY NEVER

    ANOTHER By Apetrulis01

I have a Glock 35 which I use for USPSA competition. When my gun is running the way I want it to I will not clean it for 2 to 3 matches. This equals about 600-700 rounds.

After one such string of matches I went to take down the gun completely (removing all parts from the frame for deep cleaing). I noticed the trigger pin, or first pin some call it, was broken in half. Half of the trigger pin was within the frame barely holding the trigger in place while the other half was probably out in the range somewhere. Yet the Glock 35 kept firing without any malfunctions.

If I was not convinced of Glock's reliability before I am convinced now. Any firearm that has half a part broken and still continues to fire 100% is ok in my book.

So the unbreakable do break  and the go Kaboom a lot also. I know reloads  want to buy beach front property in Ky.

from SCC  also on Glock Talk  today

He keeps a supply of parts for the unbreakable Glock   till keep running till mail man resupplies him.

If they don't break why do you need parts  and keep mail man bringing more.

ALL THE ABOVE FROM JUST PART OF FIRST PAGE ON GLOCK TALK  THEIR ARE LOTS OF POST ABOUT THE PERECT PISTOL BREAKING JAMING.   Oh Lets not for get Mr Ego named  a  round after himself  45GAP   He didn't inventhat That idea had been around He just marketed it  That what he's good at marketing  Sort of like the carny guy who gets you to pay to see  the bearded lady. You pay and then find you got took   Marketing. .
Don't ever tell me I don't know about  firearms  Iam sure many here will tell you to take a long walk of a short pier  with you Glock. If you don't shoot yourself in leg getting their.  Better make you replie good might just be you last I have had enough crap today from a now X member and I can make it 2
I might just do it any way  mr.  I KNOW IT ALL Angry [:@]  FROM MR "I know nothing"    I know this I do no where the door is and I  will make sure it is open .

    Re: Springfield XDm

I can only speak for myself, but my guess is that you (michael t) know more about guns, including history of and operation, than I would ever be able to possibly read about in my remaining lifetime. I am sorry that gunsofkaty has contributed to your bad day....I will say that I do agree with you, as most here know, in that I do not like Glocks....

A friend of mine and I went to the range...I had BT380 and T9, he had Glock 23 in .40....we traded lanes and I shot his pistol and he shot mine....Shooting his pistol was like trying to hold onto a chiquaqua that was after the mail man.......After one magazine (or clip for gunsofkaty) I set his pistol down and waited him for finish with the Bersas....

FWIW, gunsofkaty, I would be nice to michael t....you just might learn something.....

    Michael T,

Every time I quit yackin and listen to you I learn something new. You have freely given me help, advise and valuable information all for the sake of just helping me out. Even when I open my mouth and change feet. You just keep your cool and pull my foot out and dust me off. You are a wealth of information I am a better gun owner because of you. Thank you very much.

Well MT, I don't always agree with your opinions but I can't say I've ever found you lacking in firearms knowledge.
