    Darn Tootin' We Want (and Need) Change

    If you even remotely believe that the current administration has not caused serious problems for America that will take decades to correct, read this:

    G.W. Bush will rightfully go down in history as the equal of both Herbert Hoover (sat by while the Drepression happened) and j. Edgar Hoover (What Constitution?).

    Problem is, I don't think either McCain or Obama are equal to the task.

    Look at the source...Vanity Fair, don't think I would put much credence in this magazine.  Looks like they blame Bush for all our woes. Should be putting the blame where it belongs; congress, CEOs, parents, ourselves.....

    i have to take anything from vanity fair with a grani of salt. just look at the plamegat/spygate thing. they blew that out to be much more than it ever was and still have people believing that woman was a cia covert agent. lol

    Bush has done done great things for this country.  But its not all his Fault.   The VERY simple answer is,  THE GOVERNMENT IS TOO BIG AND GROWING.

    If you bother to actually read the 4 page article, you'll see that it's written by a Nobel Laureate in Economics who actually quotes various (and verifiable) facts and writers.

    Not Bush alone but certainly the Bush administration....

    I bothered. It's still a steaming pile of BS. The entire tone of the article is a liberal rant.
    Nobel Laureates can be very biased as well. Verifiable facts can be picked and chosen to paint any picture you want.
    With the verifiable facts on the internet you could make a case for Bugs Bunny for president. You could also find Sylvester the cat responsible for the current economic crisis.
    Big, big, grains of salt, trust no truth to be true, from either side.

    OK - show me an opposing article by a similarly credentialed author (Nobel Laureate in Economics, Economics Professor at a leading University with a highly rated Economics program, etc) and I'll be glad to read and discuss.  Until then, you're just spouting off - like Coulter, Limbaugh, Hannity etc.

    Economics defenition of recession: Two consecutive quarters of negative growth. We haven't had one yet. Don't believe Hussein or Billary. By the way Bill left the white house when we were in an actual recession. Vanity Fair?????

    Ah - so we're in a growth period??  How's your disposible income doing - like these gas and food and health care prices?  Think you'll be in a better position to afford them next quarter?

    And, growth only slowed in late '00 - primarily due to the issues surrounding the .com meltdown and confusion over the '00 election. 

    Who are you believing?  Everyone but the prez has stated repeatedly that while we are not in the classically defined recession, it sure feels like one to most of the population.

    I have a friend who's son is going to school to become a minister and in the course of his studies he has to learn to recite every passage in the bible. Both Old and New. An incredible and daunting task in my opinion. Which led me to this idea.

    Every politician that is running for office should have to be able to recite the constitution beginning to end to be eligible for office. And may as well throw in the Declaration of Independence as well.  Maybe becoming intimately knowledgeable about the document that's "supposed" to govern us may lesson the crap factor we seem to be on the receiving end from these dunderheads in both parties.

    By the way, while I still have you, when I was in elementary school I had to learn the preamble to the Constitution, the first paragraph of the Declaration of Independence and the Gettysburg Address by heart. Do they even mention these things in schools today? And I ain't that old.

    And   OBAMMAMA, HILLARY, OR McCAIN are going to lead us to a better time . Right these 3 and those in Washington are only going to get deeper in your pocket and grow the goverment even bigger with more laws to control you. They know Americans won't revolt because their to interested in Sports TV computers and other  unless things.to pay any attention to whats being done to them,

    We will take care of you form birth till death  will make people happy . America has become to lazy and to wrapped up in themselves to change things.

    Anybody remember the movie ...(soilent Green )... Starring Charlton Heston and Edward  g  Robinson ...I pray to god im wrong ,but seems like it`s not to far off .      imho

    And from a couple of other bastions of liberalism - The Labor Department and the Assiciated Press comes:

    "In other economic news, the Labor Department reported Thursday that applications for jobless benefits rose by 6,000 last week to 371,000. The gain was in line with expectations.

    The weak economy has triggered four straight months of job losses, often a sign that a recession has started. However, the April drop was just one-fourth the size of job losses in March, giving hope that the current economic slowdown may not be as severe as the past two recessions."
