    Model 85 firing pin safety?

Does the 85 have one?  The safety is a bit sticky and I'd like to be able to carry it with the safety off.  Can I do this safely on the 85?

No it does not have an FP safety, but it does have a half ***, to help prevent misfires if dropped.

Forgive my ignorance, but the manual says nothing about how to halfcock the weapon.  How is it done?

When cocking the pistol the hammer should travel approx. 1/4 of an inch to the rear and you should hear a click and the hammer will then stay there and not rest on the firing pin(this is not to be confused witht the fully cocked postion), this is half cocked position.
