This is my first post on this forum but I have been lurking for several weeks now. I purchased a Mini Firestorm 45 about 3 weeks ago and have been fairly impressed by it. My first trip to the range I tried 230 grain FMJ and fired a box of 50 rounds with no problems. I also tried one mag loaded with 185 grain JHPs and it fed and ejected just fine. However, it seemed like I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn if I was standing inside with the door closed! Actually I was on paper at 10 yards but not very consistent.I compared the recoil with my Taurus PT 917C and they're fairly close.
My second trip to the range I tried 230 grain JHPs and had one FTF but worked fine after that. I also shot off the bench with a sand bag support and put a hand sized group at about 3" below center at 10 yards. Not bad! Then I shot off hand and was a whole lot more accurate than the last time out.
I also own an older Bersa 383a that I like very much but it always had feed problems. The last time out the safety / decocker lever started working its way out of the slide. Might be a weak detent spring. Does anybody have any thoughts?
