Re: Does anyone have a NAA Mini Revolver?

A few years ago I had a NAA mini revolver in 22 mag,. It was a lot of fun to shoot, I was always surprised how such a little gun could make such a big bang. I liked it and would consider owning another one.

Love my NAA 22mag, I have the 1 5/8" barrel  fits in my front  pocket in a pocket holster and just forget it's there till you need it, I can consistantly put five 40gr  Winchester HP's in a 6" paper plate at 7 feet  in under 10 seconds, for my last line of defense that is pretty darn good to me and really bad for who is on the receiving end.   Specs is correct the NAA's are made from solid stainless, they don't have a "finish" on them. I gave $189 for the combo at Sportsman's Warehouse, definantly woth the money.

That's a great price for a combo. I paid $229.95 tax included  and was glad to get it.

    Single action only.
Thanks you spec's,I think i can live with that.
One more question since I cant find one at my LGS,is the bar hanging  pointing down right in front grip the trigger or is it a rod or something that a trigger "button?" is located on? I dont see a reg. trigger you pull.
I have read that the cylinder has a 1/2 way point where the hammer rests until its c**ked and pulled, from what i see this is a very inguenis saftey unless u somehow c**ked the hammer putting it in your pocket.
My wife is actually wanting me to check into this little revolver for her, whooohoooo.
She likes American Derringers but I said NO WAY cute guns can  get you shot.

Re: Does anyone have a NAA Mini Revolver?

It's a trigger. No trigger guard and the trigger sits flush to the piece of frame  hanging down until you pull the hammer back. The trigger has a bit of  frame on either side of it as well. The hammer rests inbetween the cylinder chambers in a slot until you pull it back. Won't happen in pocket carry, it takes a bit of pull. If you go to a museum you can see early revolvers made this way.

I would say that if you order it and she does not like it, you will carry it anyway. Just remember that it is no range gun and should be considered a "contact sport" item. It's fun to shoot at up to 5 yards, but takes practice. Too bad you can't actually see one, I hate to buy something I have not seen. Do you have any gun shows near you? There usually are a few dealers with them. It looks like Bud's in KY is out of them again.

And I can deliver 9, 25 auto in under 4 sec or 8, 32 auto in arond 5 sec.  in same plate and same distance.  380  Kt might take 6 sec, if aimed fire..

A  P-32 little bigger gun and more rounds quicker.. I would almost bet I can fire and reload and empty the 32 again be fore you fire your first cly. full. Ill go get a cup of coffee and reload both mags while you reloading  .

Their cute and a play gun I would never bet my life on one I know people do and thats their choice. But think whats better 8 rounds of 32  Corbon at a 1008FPS and 135ftlbs  .435 caliber on expansion, in half the time  (Golden Lokie Kel Tec P-32  ammo test) Or a 22 mag 40 gr. that doesn't open and takes you 10 sec for  5 shots. Go to the NAA site and look at the numbers for the 22LR and 22 Mag from their pistols  No contest.  Their is no 2nd place winner as Bill Jorden would say   when you need a pistol  .

We won't even talk about the 380  kicking its butt,

Not to step on anyone's toes but my sherrif's department gives self defense and firearms course to women. They teach us to carry a revolver for self defense in nothing smaller than 38 special.

Bet they don't carry a revolver. Why should you.  Oh I know their the only ones with proper training and professional enough to carry a auto.   Tell them for me their jerks A woman can handle a auto  as well as a man. Sounds like male chovinism  to me.

Re: Does anyone have a NAA Mini Revolver?

    hi mt,

Most of the women taking the course have never shot a pistol. A revolver is easier to learn than an semi-auto for most of these women. Plus sherrif says their semi-autos can jam but revolvers don't. some of the deputies carry revolvers as backup. especially the airweights. I really don't think they're jerks and would never tell them that. They give up their time off to teach us how to defend ourselves. I have no idea why you would say such a thing about a public service.

    have a nice day,

Re: Does anyone have a NAA Mini Revolver?

Because they only carry as a back up. So they won't put their life on line with a Revolver but have no trouble telling you to. Auto might jam. Good news!!! Wheel guns jam also  S&W air weights with lite bullets are known for bullet jump. (bullet moves foward out of case and stops cyl. from turning  I had a primer blow out jamed cyl up .

You can clear a aauto 99% of time very fast When a rev. jams your done.

Its takes a little more effort  to learn a Auto over a Rev.  But in long run you will shoot the auto better and  it carries easiler.

So Tell them if a revolver is good enough for you then should be good enough for them. Was for many a year till hicap craze.  I really think their looking down on you and your falling for it

My X can shoot either She is learning the 1911 at present. Other night was shooting my 44 spl. Charter Arms Bull dog

     Don't sell you self short.

Re: Does anyone have a NAA Mini Revolver?

I have a NAA Black Widow, 22 WMR with the conversion cylinder in .22 LR and 2" barrel. It has larger grips than the NAA minis so it can be controlled better. Main advantage is its ability to be slipped into the front pants pocket and be nearly invisible. I carry mine most everywhere that way in an Uncle Mike's #4 pocket holster to keep the pocket duff out of the works. I carry mine loaded with the Winchester Supreme 38 gr. bullets in .22 WMR, along with the .22 LR cylinder loaded with CCI Stingers. All fits into the pocket holster nicely. At 7 yds. (21') you can keep the 5 rounds well within the COM. I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of those Supreme rounds! I carry the Black Widow when not carrying the BT 380.

Re: Does anyone have a NAA Mini Revolver?

    Think of this scene:

30+ middle aged or older women who have never shot a pistol before in their life lined up at the tables..would you try to teach them first on semi autos? Do you have that much time on Saturday afternoon? Most of them can't even rack the slide much less load a magazine!! We're talking mooncalfs here.

Their husbands gave up on most that is why they are there. Major is not looking down on women. He is being realistic. Those who want to shoot or only own a semi are given basic lessons in it's operation and how to use it in self defense situations.
Maybe I should have been more clear about how this was presented to the women here.

    BTW,
deputies are not allowed to carry revolver as first sidearm. Glock and it's low bids saw to that.

Also this is old traditions here. women depend on men to open doors and not cuss in front of them. I wouldn't change it for the world. Doesn't make us unequal just smarter.

I have never in my life heard of bullet jump. What kind and age of airweight were you shooting and was it factory ammo?

Re: Does anyone have a NAA Mini Revolver?

You really only see bullet jump with handloads that have insufficient crimp, but it has happened.  When it does a revolver becomes a brick.

MT is right about women shooting autos just as well as men with one caveat... it should be a locked breach full size auto preferably in 9mm.  Small autos and blowback actions have a steeper learning curve.

A 4in DA revolver is probably the simplest to shoot and operate.  That is why the cops use it to teach.
