Recoil Spring Position For Trouble Free Reassembly of BT380

Some people who are new to Bersa Talk and new to owning the Bersa Thunder 380 have reported having trouble reassembling the gun when they attempt to put the barrel through the slide’s muzzle port. Since we are getting more new members all the time, this is a question that is frequently asked: How do you get the muzzle of the barrel to slide smoothly through the muzzle port in order to pull the slide to the rear and engage the slide rails to reassemble the BT380?

Here’s a simple trick that will end the hassle forever. When you place the recoil spring over the barrel (tight end first) be sure to rotate the outer wire end of the spring so that it’s in the top-most (12:00 o’clock) position relative to the barrel.

That’s all there is to it. This position of the outer wire end will facilitate smooth movement of the muzzle through the muzzle port so the slide can be pulled back and the slide rails aligned for quick and easy reassembly.

The process is fully yet simply explained and illustrated at our sister site, Bersa Thunder 380 Chapterhouse, which is operated by a Bersa Talk "charter member", horge. New members would be wise to bookmark that site and visit often. Here’s a link to the related article at that site. http://bersachapterhouse.50webs.com/articlespringposition.html .

You’re welcome. But don’t thank me. Thank horge.
