Nope,   everywhere but church and work.  I'm a Federal air traffic controller.  Big NO NO!

Why don't you carry in church?  I think God would appreciate you protecting  his flock.  Seriously.

Re: do you carry at work?

I can`t carry at work due to an incident a few years before my time with the company. They had a disgruntled employee come to work with a .357 revolver and shoot out some truck windows. Now the owner won`t allow guns at work even if you have a concealed permit.

Re: do you carry at work?

Ever since I got my permit, I haven't looked back.  I work for a large company, but luckily there are no restrictions to make us feel safe.  So it's never been a question to me.  Less than a handful of people I work with know that I carry (in a company with a few hundred engineers), and I like to keep it that way.  I *do* encourage them to get permits even if they never intend to carry.  When it comes to political games, the number of permit-holders can be intimidating to gun-grabbers.

There was a recent incident lately with some threats from a disgruntled employee.  It never panned out, but I did carry my "backup gun" for a while as well: a Taurus Model 65 .357 in my laptop bag.  Security's been beefed up a bit, but we still have the unarmed Barney Fife security guard.  Not much comfort there.

What's funny is that all of us smokers have been moved to a gazebo area near the main entrance.  Other smokers quip about how some nut with a gun and a mission would take out the smokers first before moving into the main building.  I just smile and nod, all the while thinking "not me, pal."

Yeah I do carry at work and I work on a military base, but I am a LEO at that base so I am issued my firearm. Unfortunately I am not allowed to carry off duty but I am getting a CCW so I can carry on my own time.

Re: do you carry at work?

In TX penal code, it specifically lists churches, synagogues and other places of worship, along with amusement parks and hospitals as "no carry zones", then later in the foot notes it says that those above mentioned places were subject to code 30.06, which means they have to display a certain type of sign.

My CHL instructor was also an LEO and he said that he was not sure if God appreciated it or not, but that his preacher had told him to bring his gun and be sure to sit on the front row..Wink [;)]

Re: do you carry at work?

I totally agree with you, I'm self employed&I carry at work, nothing but a search could deter me from carrying a gun at work, and that isn't gonna happen if I have anything to say about it.

Being self employed does have some perks, doesn't it?..........

Re: do you carry at work?

I'm a state employee and our State AG determined it was uncostitutional to restrict state employees with conceal permits from carrying. I usually pack a Kimber Ultra Carry .45 everywhere, except the VA Medical Center. I just got a FS UC9 yesterday, but I haven't fired it yet. I have arthritis so if the UC9 works out, I may carry it.

Re: do you carry at work?

Sounds like your state AG is a person with a brain...........you are lucky!  I think more should do what yours has done and give the folks with CHLs some credit for knowing how to carry and use too if the situation warrants it!..............

Re: do you carry at work?

I'm a pastor so I can carry all the time and everywhere it is allowed..

It's against Louisina law to carry in church except the State Police said I can carry in my church office.  That will work.

I carry at work, I am a self employed contractor. several of my employees have handguns.

A couple of us have bersa's.  Two of us have a Michigan cpl carry license.

We carry our 1911's  as we service a neighboring town where crime is rampant.
