No light for me.  Stop smoking, eat your carrots, and see better in the dark.  I recommend stealth and patience - you're in your own house, and you know it better than any bad guy should.  If it comes to it, the first (and last) light he should see is your muzzle flash.

    Re: Light or no light

I dont have one YET but want to get one to put on the nightstand gun.  I want one though that is easy to use TACTICALY, the kind that has a leaver by the trigger guard that flips one way and comes on then goes off when released or the other way and stays on.  I figure if a time comes when there is an intrudor in my home I want to be able to see them clearly and access the situation before deciding to pull the trigger.  If you hit them in the eyes with a good bright light then they wil be blinded and you will see them, thats where switching it on when already pointed at them comes in rather than trying to use it to search with.  There are to many possibilities IMO on who could be there, family member, friend or some such due to unusual situation.

I know if my uncle hadnt CLEARLY seen the intrudor in his house he would have felt like crap for life, cost 2 or more folks their lives and likely been in prison for murder.  He woke up to the window by the door breaking (hadnt heard the knocking proved by the blood on the door) he went out to check it with the shotgun and fortunatly, as he pointed it he flipped on the light and realized the guy and the woman he had just laid on the couch were bloody.  They had been in a wreck in front of his farm (before cell phones were real common) and needed help and an ambulance and only broke in when there was no anwser and it was a choice of get to a phone or let his wife bleed out.

To me adding options is a VERY good thing and a tactical light dose just that.  Also could make it easer to see the sights for shooting coons and opposums out of the cats dish at night.

Do what thy manhood bids thee do, from none but self expect applause...

I don't have a light on my pistol, but do keep a light near me when sleeping, or sitting watching TV or puter in the evening.  I would prefer to have one with me, but it depends on the situation, as to whether I use it.  No sense letting the bg know where I am.

    Ditto

I sold the remainder of my guns that weren't stolen

Never threaten, it spoils the surprise
