range report: firestorm .22 -great reliability with wal-mart bulk ammo

just put 500 rounds of remington golden bullet bulk pack from wal-mart through my firestorm .22 with no cleaning whatsoever or adding any additional lubrication.  only had 3 failures due to bad primers (the 3 rounds that didn't go off still had a nice, deep firing pin hit on the case, though).  gun fed & ejected flawlessly, not one jam & this is a brand new gun that only had a hundred rounds put through it after i first got it.  am very impressed with it.  consistently hits 5" x 8" steel plates at 25 yards.  the blowback design seems to be extremely reliable & tolerant of running dirty. also, (incase someone wants to try to find one) this was picked up for $99 on clearance from Gander Mountain a couple months ago.

My experience echos yours, except I didn't get the great price you did at GM. Rem Golden Bullets work pretty good in my gun, but the Federal Value Pack was Jam City.

You Too ?   I also got my .22 firestorm @ gander mountain for $140.00

and its flawless ..i cant understand why people sell them back ?   I cant remember how many rounds have been thru it .   as far as a bad primer goes ,there`s always a chance of that .  I put mine in an old .22 rifle and rotate the the case so the pin hits the primer in a different spot...works 9 times out of 10 .  ...these pistols are well made and reliable shooters . Mine is on my hip every time i go fishing ,and snake shot in my vest pocket .  of all the pistols ive tried i always go back to the firestorm .My taurus wheel gun is too heavy and my keltec is to slow  ...Happy Shooting .         Yes [Y]

Were they new, used or displays, and were either of them the 22-6 or just standard?

Re: range report: firestorm .22 -great reliability with wal-mart bulk ammo

-sorry for the slow response, guys.  it was a brand new, "reverse duo-tone" std barrel (not 6").  i say reverse duo-tone 'cause the slide is silver & the frame is black, opposite of what they do on the .380's.  i didnt ask if they had more & didn't see any on display.  i mentioned i was looking for one & the mgr. said "i think we had one on clearance, let me go check."  he came back in a few minutes with it in a dusty, slightly beat-up box & he reassured me it was still brand new.  it had the warranty card which i mailed in.  i doubt they have more as i've been back there since & have never seen another one there.  i'm guessing it must have been an unpopular seller for them causing them to discontinue it. looks-wise, i definitely prefer the all-black models & have thought about buying a new black slide for it someday.
