    Hoppes Solvent vs. Lubricating Oil

I've been reading that "Hoppes #9" will harm a nickel finish, and I just wanted to ask if someone could clarify this for me:

I have a Hoppe's cleaning kit, and it has a bottle of solvent and a spray can of lubricating oil.

Is the lubricating oil okay to use if it gets on the nickel?  I'm assuming that the solvent is the part that I don't want touching it, right?

Correct. The oil should have no ill effect.
