I do. I'm one of those that are not supposed to due to company policy, but i do anyway. I work in one of the worst neighborhoods in Miami (Liberty City in between Little Havana and Little Haiti). There have been 11 fatal shootings within 6 miles of here in the last year. Not to mention numerous armed roberies, assaults, car jackings, etc, etc. When my office decides to have an armed security guard, maybe I'll leave the Bersa in the car (MAYBE), but until then I'll carry here everyday.Besides, if they don't know, it's not there.

We are way ahead of Miami in that national report two weeks ago that puts the Orlando area among the  top cities  in the nation in vilent crime.  Do you think Walt Disney had anything to do with this?

I used to live in Hollywood and worked in Liberty City back in the 70's. It was bad then. You need to mount a maching gun on the hood of your car.

Re: do you carry at work?

Depends on how you define allowed.  I work in a high crime area where the stupid justice system dumps homeless convicts when they are released from prison.  Due to our clients HSE policy, which we must abide by if we work for them, it is against company policy to have a firearm on company property. Yet when I leave my truck in the morning my gun is in a clip holster on my belt and when I sit at my desk it goes into a locked drawer.  Everyone knows it - wink wink nod nod.  Another guy in the back does the same thing and the owner of the company usually has a 12 gauge in his closet.  The ladies know just who to call when some drug addict comes around begging for mony or asking for a cigarette.  Makes them feel a lot safer.

Sometimes. If we have been dealing with a mental case through customer service and he has threatened to come down and TCB, then I will carry for a while...no one knows but me...and I'm going to keep it that way....

Re: do you carry at work?

I do not.  Companies located in airports seem to frown on it.

Check out this video of workplace insanity.

Re: do you carry at work?

We are not allowed to carry at work but I do carry to the job site then I lock it up.  In a previous life I had a desk job (ins. sales) and I had an unhappy and nutty guy come to our offices to complain.  He was so bizzare that after that I devised an escape plan just in case and kept a gun in my drawer which would have gotten me fired, I suppose. A few months later that guy that came to the office chased his wife down the expressway and shot her dead.

Re: do you carry at work?

My wife and I share an office building (both self employed) and I insist she carry when I'm not around.  She is often in that building alone and worse yet with male clients and associates she sometimes doesn't even know very well.  We don't carry anyplace else as I don't see any need to personally and CCW is hard to get around here. My policy with employees is that they can bring guns to work if they are happy controlled people.  Grumpy hotheads get fired.

if i happen to do a service call in a bad area ill carry in pocket, i usual avoid taking calls in high crime areas, somehow its a product line i happen to not service. Wink [;)]
repair work in homes, alot of bending, kneeling and laying on customer floors makes it uncomfortable to carry. 27 years guess im lucky, have had no real problems in homes. have had my tools stolen from truck just 4 times, of course no one saw a thing.    (self employed)

Sometimes I work on things that hold money. Lots of money. I'm usually alone, too. The company handbook states: Illegal carry of weapons is prohibited. I'm legal, so YEP!
