    jlmcpa1986:

Put 100 rounds through my Keltec 3AT .380 last night at East Orange Shooting Sports Indoor Range.  My hand is sore today.  I carry this little cannon in a pocket every day, and it takes more practice to shoot well than any gun I own.  BTW - I started lubing my Keltec with FP-10 and my reliability problems disappeared.  Woohhoooo!!.

I handled an LCP a couple of weeks ago and it looks like a quality effort by Ruger....but if it ain't broke, I won't fix it as long as I continue to improve with my Keltec.  Of course, I do have two front pockets...........

Glad to hear jlmcpa1986 that your kel tec is shooting so well and also glad to hear you say it takes more practice than any gun you own to shoot well, that is encouraging as I am not so accurate with the lcp yet. I will continue to practice. Smile [:)]

Shoot it as close as you can If range allows 10' then shoot at 10 When you doing better move back to 15 .    I shoot mainly at 21'  for practice .  with mine i can go longer distance but do feel this type of pistol really isn't  ment for long distance

Nice pictures.  You'll have to let us know how you improve over time.  I have not been able to locate one of these LCP's up here around Toledo Ohio or in Michigan gun shops that I have been to.  They all say back ordered.  Gander Mountain in Toledo says they can't get any at all.  I think Ruger just sent out pictures to play with use.   Of course Indiana Jeff can vouch for one of them that they made. I would like to see really how they look next to a Kel-Tec.  I hear the lines are smoother.

I will let you know how I do when I can afford the ammo again....lol, also have been very busy. side by side hands down the lcp is smoother and looks better quality, imo you have more room for finger in trigger guard because on lcp the guard is thinner. no offense to the kel tec p3at as I  do not own nor have I shot one, just referring to the over all looks. good luck to you on finding one, I got lucky when I found mine cause a couple other lgs around here have like 20 people each on waiting list.

have to add: I put another el cheapo 50 rounds thru elsie this week. no jams. nothing broke. 300+ rounds. no clean either but think i will tonite. it takes a lickin and keeps on tickin. i am very pleased with this pistol. wish it came in .22lr. what a blast it would be to shoot it all you want! my back yard would be condemned from lead build up.

Re: kel tec p3at vs ruger lcp 380

I looked long and hard at the LCP but in the end I chose the P3AT in hard chrome. It was clean as a pin, new in the box and picked it up for far less at the Dayton Gun Show than what I could ever come close to in a Ruger.

Took it to the range and it never missed a lick. At the end of the day clean up was quick and easy after taking it apart. I carry it every day and not a speck of rust anywhere.

I got what I needed which for me was much better than what I wanted. The BT 380 sits patiently waits for a ride, which it gets every now and then. Come fall and winter I will be back using it more but for now in the summer when I can just drop the P3AT into the pocket holster and go.

Only I know it is there not even my wife. Every once and a while she will look at me and ask, "You ARE carring arn't you?" That's when I smile and she feels better.

I am very happy for you obtaining the new member to your family. Best wishes and good shooting.

Re: kel tec p3at vs ruger lcp 380

Nothing wrong with a P3AT. Just ask my daughter.........she said since i had the elsie she didn't think i'd mind if she took my P3AT. jimminy cricket!!
in all fairness i think the keltec has more stipling (S?) on the grip and you can get a better hold on it than the lcp. the lcp seems to kick more too. i think it's because the slide is a little heavier...but not sure about this.
i like them both. they are great little guns for the money. i have no trouble with either pistol.
My P32 wants to pick a fight.
