First of all, I want to thank everyone for their continued support of this website. It has become a great resource to discuss Bersa handguns and other related handgun topics, as well as just fun conversation.
As you know, for some time we've been fighting with a few issues on this site, mainly the Internet Explorer logout bug and more recently the e-mail issue. I'm happy to announce that we finally have a solution to these problems. Michael T and I have been busy testing our fourms on a new server at a new hosting facility and we're happy to report that these issues, as well as a few other ones that most of you don't run into (deleting/moving posts errors, etc.), have been resolved.
Along with this move comes greater performance, increased available web and database space, and additional flexability to enhance and improve the site!
I am scheduling the move to occur TONIGHT APRIL 18, 2006 beginning at 8:00 PM MDT. At 8:00 PM I will be taking the site offline to backup and transfer the content to the new hosting facility. The site should be back up and operational by tomorrow morning. During the outage you will not have access to bersatalk.com.
Part of this move includes making updates to Domain Naming System (DNS) tables. For some of you, especially those of you on the edges of the Internet (pretty much anyone in Kentucky), it may take up to 48 hours for your ISP to update its DNS tables for your to access the site at the new location. Not to worry, I will have an alternate URL posted at the old location for anyone who does not get redirected to the new location. Within 48 hours of the move al will be back to normal.
