Has anyone here carried at Disney World Orlando?   I have found a couple other sites where people ask this question, but the answers were less than re-assuring.  One was a cop forum where several of the posters claimed to have carried in WDW.  http://www.bluesheepdog.com/2007/11/30/no-guns-for-police-officers-at-disney-world/

I travel to FL often and carry there often, but this will be my first year with my permit at Disney.  Please post any experiences and references to FL concealed carry law.

I "accidentally" carried once in Disney.  Seems they check bags, purses but not people. No metal detectors.  Disney might be different when it comes to what would happen if you get caught with a weapon.  The are like their own city.  I would think if you have a CWP they would likely just tell you to leave, but I am not sure.

If it is like Disneyland here in California.....

  Your best bet is to get permission BEFORE you stroll into the park.  Seriously, I was born in Burbank, California.  Disney is its own country.  They decide how they interpret the laws of the land.  Think about it, do you have the money to cross them on this?

Think you can find a nuetral judge in a worst case scenario?

I'm not dramatic, just practical.  Respect the MOUSE.  Seriously.

Don't make it the TRAGIC kingdom, bud.  Their lawyers are legendary.

 

Mouse land still in state of Fl. They still must obey Fl laws .  I belive Fl like Ky if they find all they can do is ask you to leave . If you don't tresspass . Check Fl. law Better yet don't waste your money at mouse land

I seriously doubt they would do much unless you dropped in in plain sight or lost it on a ride.  They work hard at making it the happiest place on earth.  Just don't put it in a bag, they check em at the entrance and would probably ask you to please come back without it if they saw it, smiling while they say it to you. They're policy on weopons isn't easy to find so I don't know what it is per se and I looked for it, but my wife's pepper spray didn't bother them.  Yeh, I know PS sucks but ccw is hard to come by here (Orange County California) so I'm told so it's spray and pray. I spend way to much time in Disneyland but if I could legally carry I'm not sure I would carry there, just my personal choice for several reasons, your welcome to your choice. 

I know people who have carried at Disney,but were never caught.Their policy is no handguns and if you are caught,they will ask you to leave and escort you out.

in the military you are taught about weapons...

in state sponsored classes you are taugh about firearms...

 

Does a gun have to be a weapon?  or considered one?   those of you that have served in military may disagree due to conditioning but firearms can be used as weapons but dont have to be, much like a pencil.

I disagree completely.

There are many guns that were never designed to be, nor have they been used as weapons.
The fact that they could be used as a weapon does not fly, anything can be used as a weapon.

PT might be the first time in a while we really disagree about something.  Firearms are not weapons.   When I took the training this summer to become a volunteer Hunting Instructor we covered this extensively.   When people use the term weapon to discribe all firearms that really gives Anti-gunners and Brady's fuel.  That is exactly what they want.  They want the common term for Firearm to be weapon.  They want everyone to see a picture of a firearm and think "weapon".  when that happens they have won.  If you call a firearm a weapon while instructing the hunting classes they will pull you as a instructor.  The NYS Conservation Office understood how important this was and impressed it on me, and you know what?  They are exactly right.   Every news cast or article that uses the term weapon instead of firearm or gun it just a liberal jab at mentally making people associate the two EVERYTIME.  ...using the term weapon to describe firearms might be the reason my parents were afraid of them until I introduced them and taught them about handguns.   they had no reason to be nervious about them besides the fact that they are "weapons"

Think about the term... Assult Weapon Ban....  makes them sould like their only use is as a weapon.

The impression the term weapon leaves on people unknowledgable about firearms is not what pro-gunner need or want.

I went to WDW over spring break.  I never had an issue with my Glock 23.  Carry it on you, they search ALL bags...even made me empty my camera bag to the bottom, but they do not search people and Florida honors my CCL from Texas.  There is no posting that said it was un-lawful to carry concealed with a license inside the park.  No posting = OK to carry.

That is my experience at the gate, always carry a knife on me with no issue.  I really want to carry, but have heard the big mouse will excommunicate you for life if you get caught inside.  Don't want to do that to my kids.

I think we all are a little right.  Firearms are weapons, but-if they aren't being used "right that moment as a weapon" is it a weapon?  Most people would say yes.  Us pro CCW holders might say no, but only to protect us from the gun nazi's.  Its true it is easier to create a WEAPONS Ban, than a GUN Ban.  The later would DEFINATELY get attention from more than just CCW holders.  But, as was stated earlier-in today's litigious society, do you have the money to defend against that if needed?
